Hi, just curious if anyone has some useful information (i.e. strength of clinical training, breadth of exposure, strength of transplant programs, mentorship, etc.) about the University of Colorado and Stanford programs individually and/or in comparison. Appreciate any help...thanks so much!

Stanford is very research heavy. Unfortunately, the clinical experience pales in comparison.

University of Colorado at Denver has it all.

Half of the ones you mentioned have already been added to the list and it's only as good as what people decide to contribute. I would bet that there are a lot of lurkers not willing to add to it for whatever reason.

Speaking personally, I didn't add duplicates because it became increasingly hard to tell whether the offer was part of a second round or single (from someone giving up their interview). In my opinion, it becomes less helpful to other people and I think most are more concerned with whether a location has sent anything at all at any point. (Of course, I'm sure there are people who appreciate more information).

Has anyone had their interview at Wash U? The email says it is supposed to end around 5 pm. Can someone confirm if this is true? I am trying to book my flight and the latest departure time from St Louis I am able to get is 6 pm. Thanks.

Yes the interview day is longer than most, I think I got out around 4 or so

move on from residency. everyone knows how busy faculty are. depending on program, they may interview 50-100 candidates and they dont have time for those.

If program is impressed with the candidate, they likely will reach out before rank order deadline themselves

I’ve been sending thank yous to the PD and APD(s) because writing to all the interviewers seems exhausting and I don’t want to end up sending some empty, stale sounding thank you (which is what would end up happening if I sent like 8 thank yous). In general I’ve gotten responses from all the PDs but usually they’ve been pretty general and short, excluding one pretty positive one. Not sure what stock to take into these things. I’ve heard that getting contacted prior to rank list time is somewhat common but who knows. Can’t say it helps a ton but in the end I think it makes sense to thank these people because as we’ve all learned, this process is extremely competitive and they took the time to assess whether or not we could be their colleagues.

I think 50-100 people sounds like a ton. I know for sure there are programs that interview 20-30 max, FWIW

Anyone heard from the NYC area programs? (Bronx Lebanon, Brookedale, Brooklyn Hospital, Maimonides, NYCOMEC, Nassau)

It might be a little bit early in the season, but does anybody have tips/know the protocol for reaching out to favorite programs? Obviously I know we should only tell our #1 program they are #1 but is there any role in feeling out other programs in our top 3?

I always thought it wasn't a good strategy to inform programs that you were rankng number 1.

Wouldn't that make them more likely to rank you lower?
