That’s a really cool study. I love reading cognitive psych research because it’s always so clever. I wonder how much of an effect it could have with coffee considering it always looks more or less the same.
Coffee is likely less susceptible. I would imagine, however what you said just made me think of this study which really has nothing to do with the topic of this thread now that I think about it… Just a fun tidbit. However, I do think that that could potential he be influence from aroma, ambient lighting, overall mood that could influence how one perceives the coffee. Maybe you just really liked Washington University and so the coffee was really good!

Sorry if this is a repeat but Cornell's lunch was a let down. Maybe it is because I had Columbia the day before (they served food from a local Dominican restaurant). All they have is cold sandwiches of various meats and I got stuck with the chicken salad one (way too much mayonnaise). Absolutely amazing school though just a shame about the lunch.

Doesnt seem that VCU has been rated so I'll start by saying its so bad you should honestly just pack a lunch. They have these chips that are so salty and the wrap made my tummy rumble all night. The options are literally chicken wrap or veggie wrap and its cold. Drink options include lukewarm water or an overpriced vending machine. SAD!

I think there are a number of really strong candidates for best pen, (LOL) but the WORST PEN award can for sure be given to Baylor.

Literally just a blue pen. Doesn't even say Baylor on it. 0/10 can't flex with it.

Baylor may get the worst pen award but they get the award for being the most humble with a pen like that!
At some schools, in the folder they give you, every single piece of paper in it has the school's title or logo on it... just in case you forget where you are.
Plus their pens and tote bags and etc

Some applicants need the reminder

I was excited for a UPenn pen but instead they said:

While more basic than some other schools GWU was unbelievably accommodating of my food allergies (gluten and tomatoes). Over the year's I've noticed that 80-90% of the time there is a catered lunch the only thing that I can have (even after discussing with the people running the event well beforehand) is a bag of chips and maybe an apple. If they offer gluten-free options they all have tomato and vice versa. GW gave me a lunch where I could actually eat everything offered, they kept the bag with my lunch away from the others to prevent contamination, they checked with me before and after the lunch that everything was okay, they even had someone check the mints they offered after lunch to make sure that I could have them! I swear I nearly started crying because in all my years I've never had an organization care that much about my food restrictions.

UIC indulged my unhealthy relationship with carbs. They had two kinds of pasta (one in an Alfredo sauce and the other in marinara) with delicious lemon chicken and fries doused in the gravy from some kind of sausage stir fry. They also had salad and bread on the side. For me, they were second only to Tulane’s jambalaya!

I’ll add:

My best had been UMASS: chicken parm, pasta, salad, cookies, cake

Netter was a close second with Panera you pick 2 combos of salads and sandwiches

SLU: fancy sandwich’s (I loved this one). Mine was turkey/pesto

Emory: wraps

Drexel: sandwiches that have already been accurately described

NYMC: breakfast they let you get ANYTHING from their cafeteria like omlets and bacon, fruit, juice, yogurt. Lunch were sandwiches

Maryland: catered sandwiches. Amazing chicken salad!!!

Anyone go to RWJ or know how theirs is?

My best so far was MCW. They let us pick any boxed lunch from panera and also provided pens, winter hats, lanyards, and stress balls during break out sessions. I felt very spoiled!

I overall was not very impressed with the lunch offerings unfortunately. They had some mediocre sandwiches and wraps, as well as a pasta salad. They did offer some cookies which were decent, though they were somewhat hard to chew. As for drinks, they offered bottled water and some soft drinks.
