Please, limit your posts and questions to only CK exam experience related. It's hard for others to go through so many unrelated posts to finally a post about CK exam.

Thank you very much to all those who share their experience with everyone.

Best of luck!

Step 1: 252

NBME 6 (15 days out): 267
NBME 7 (12 days out): 241
NBME 8 (10 days out): 252
I did all 3 nbmes mostly because I get test anxiety and the repetition helps me keep a level head on test day.
UWSA 1 (5 days out): 263
UWSA2 (2 days out): 257
UW first pass %ile: high 70s
UW second pass %ile: 91st

Step 2CK 8/29: 261

Applying IM and hoping it's enough to squeeze into some top programs, as I am not from a top tier school but either way I am just happy it's over. Good luck on interviews everyone!

Hello everyone. I guess everyone has passed through such episode when you get increasingly anxious the closer you are to the exam. I have not registered for the exam yet, but planning to take it in November if everything goes smoothly. For reasons unknown, i keep checking other people's experiences and compare it to my own. Seems like OCD if you ask me (ego dystonic, but i can do little about it). Maybe reassurance from those who have destroyed that beast will help me
Non US IMG from Belarus, Eastern Europe. YOG 2018. Step 1 - 238. Planning to hit IM or anaesthesia since i work as anaesthesiologist and ICU specialist in my home country (yep, in my country it's a joined specialty)
Studying for step 2 CK since January 2019. Amboss cumulative 1st pass - 74%, 2nd - 95% (did only 500 questions)
Uworld for now 82.5% (91st percentile), 1800 questions done
Baseline UWSA1 before starting uworld - 263
I can't explain my anxiety. Maybe someone here faced the same situation. Thanks in advance for any answers and my apologies if my post took some of your time

congrats! what did u change in ur strategy studying wise from step1?

I used wayyyyyyy too many resources for Step 1. Uworld, FA, Pathoma, Sketchy, Goljan, and some other crap I can't remember. For CK I only used Uworld and made notes for all of my incorrects, or concepts that were important and I needed to hammer down. Read that notebook twice, second time being the day before the exam.

I think you'll be very well prepared after you finish all UW questions. You'll probably score in the 260's

Read at your leisure... I guess I'm pretty late in the game and should've posted this a long time ago. Hope it helps some of you out there!
Good luck everyone!

Exceptionally high score! Congratulations on that score!
I'm scoring 82% on my first run on uworld as well, with 263 on uwsa1 as a baseline before even starting uworld

Thought I will be receiving the score this Wednesday but permit still hasn't disappeared. Took it on 9/5.

Apparently, the permit can disappear anytime between now and Wednesday. Many people said it most commonly disappears the Monday of your score report...so I'd recheck tomorrow! I am also anticipating my score this week and my permit hasn't disappeared either.

Permit disappeared. Looks like it's going down this Wednesday...good luck to everyone else receiving scores as well!

Step 1: 250-255
UWSA1: 247
UWSA2:243

Step 2: 240-245
UWSA1: 270
UWSA2: 257

Goal: 250+
Expect: 245-250
Made several dumb mistakes on the exam..I usually can predict how I do on exams fairly accurately..walking out of step 1 I felt good..walking out of this one..I felt okay. Wasn't my best test but wasn't the worst thing in the world either...hopefully I hit my goal of 250+

Update: 240-245. Yikes. Didnt hit my goal at all...sucks when you see outliers on spreadsheets...and you end up being one. My score was definitely lower than I thought it would be...I think due to a "bad day" as well as standard error. Fatigue was also a huge factor for some reason....the 2nd half of the test was an absolute blur. Not sure how damaging this is to my app..but its certainly disappointing. Congrats to everyone who hit their goal though!

My permit has disappeared as well. Hoping for a 260+. If not that, hopefully scored above my Step 1 score so my residency interviews won't be affected.

Permit disappeared today but I still haven't been able to apply for Step 3. That worries me a lot. Has anyone had a similar experience and passed?

Step 1: mid 250's

NBME 6: 247 (1 month out)
UWSA 1: 264 (3 weeks out)
UWSA 2: 265 (4 days out)
UW FP %: 78.4 %

Update. Step 2 CK score= 255

I wish this thread automatically collected data about everyone's posted scores and showed what range to expect from our own assessment score. But seems like from UWA1 we should expect to get 7 points below and from UW2- 8 points below.

Actually I am just now able to apply for Step 3. For future reference, the permit disappearing and the Step 3 application trick do work but there is no exact timeline that these events follow. My permit disappeared on Monday evening and I was able to start my Step 3 Application only on Tuesday early in the morning.

Uwsa 1 overpredicts to a much a greater deal than uwsa 2. UWSA 2 is the closest to the actual score for most people. Check out the reddit Step 2 CK Correlation for exact data

I think you are right

My experience with step 2CK
UWSA 1 was 259 (2 days before exam)
UWSA 2 was 241 ( 1 day before exam)
Real deal 250

I did good in both UWSA 1 and 2 but one block in UWSA 2 I think I got 50% so my score was dropped.

Good luck guys

What about the percentages on uworld and other abanks?

What about the percentages on uworld and other abanks?

I think it was 75% one pass for Uworld only. I'm IMG Resident so there was no time for me to do other banks.
So I think the average of both UWSA will be accurate if you do well in the exam day and you were relaxed. I was not sure about some questions in each block but it was the same percentage of flags qs when I did UWSA.

Good luck

Step 1: 227

QBanks
UWorld: 65% first time pass, 2 passes
AMBOSS: 70%ish first time pass, 1 pass

30 days before exam
UWSA 1: 260ish
USWA 2: 230ish

7 days before exam
NBME form 8: 232

5 days before exam
NBME form 7: 235

2 days before exam
NBME form 6: 235

August 22 exam date
Final Step 2 score: 251

Actual score Step 2 CK: 263
Step 1: 250s
I probably could have hit 270 on ck barring few questions in a topic I did not review very much.
Will post plan later
I think clinical reasoning is biggest part of this test and what makes it slightly different from step 1. Less emphasis on memorization and more emphasis on whether you can diagnose patients. Enjoyed taking the test. Pretty easy if you are going into IM and had lot of IM rotations. Study all the different parts like Ob/Gyn etc . Don't neglect any one subject. I did not take any practice tests. Mainly used online med ed with a q bank. Did not use any anki decks. Just questions and videos.
Now a 2 wk wait for the dreaded CS which I really hope I passed.

Just posting to add to the data points of the practice tests as I found these very helpful when studying. I got my score about 3 weeks ago. Took my exam July 31.
Step 1: 248- scored well below all my practice tests, my practice tests ranged from 252 to 265.

Listing the tests in order taken:
NBME 6- 271 on July 9 ( 3 wks out)
Free 120- 93% approx 2 weeks out
NBME 7- 254 on July 23
UWSA 1- 274 on July 23 (did one full test day here 1-week out)
NBME 8- 256 on July 26 ( 5 days out)
UWSA 2- 272 on July 27 (4 days out)

Literally didn't sleep a wink the night before the exam, could have cried when my alarm went off because it meant I was doing this thing on zero sleep. Stayed hopped up on coffee, red bull and 5 hour energy drinks throughout the day and got through it thankfully.
On the day I felt my exam was fair, but a lot of questions were more vague than the practice tests which has been my experience with all 3 steps tbh.
Actual score: 270

Really want to achieve 260+ in real exam.
Please what should I do to get simil

Sure, no problem. I worked through UW in many different ways over the course of 5 months prior to my exam, initially by subject untimed, then random untimed then random timed for only one month or so before the exam. I used it more as a learning tool than a testing tool so I'm not sure how well it correlates to my score. I did only one pass of the UW Q bank. I got 78% which went up to 85% or something after I finished my incorrects and some of my marked Q's. That's all I had time for unfortunately, I work 50-60 hrs a week as a resident in the UK so I didn't have time to do a second pass.
UW was really the only Q bank I used, I did about 100 Qs of the Kaplan Q bank before I gave up on it. I didn't really like it. I can't remember what % I had on that.
Best of luck with your exam!

I think just keep doing what you're doing. My UWSA 1 only overpredicted by a few points and you can see on here too that for some it underpredicts. I wouldn't change anything at this stage, just keep going. Good luck.

Thank you for your response! My apologies for not responding for so long. Your experience is very valuable to everyone here, and to me in particular. Good luck with your exams and on your way to the residency! You're doing just great!!!

Got my score back today. For dedicated I really only studied 2 weeks, took all the NBMEs and UWSA2, read MTB x 1, re-watched OME for OBGyn/Surgery, and did about 2000 uWorld (I had completed it during 3rd year). I really felt the bulk of my studying was during 3rd year and that dedicated maybe added to my ability to take an 8 hour test and hammer home some key concepts. I consistently scored in the 99th-100th percentile on shelfs by doing OME, Zanki, UWorld, Pre-test, and would read 1-2 books during the rotation depending on if the rotation was longer or the books were shorter.

I felt Step 2 was very similar to the NBMEs, slightly harder, but not as hard as UWSA2. That kind of freaked me out the day before my test cause I was running out of time, while during the test I had a lot of time. I felt that more studying would not have garnered more right questions, rather it required a lot of good intuition on questions and process of elimination. There would be a question where the answer would be something I never studied in my life, but you could reason out the 4 wrong choices. My scores and experience are not applicable to everyone, but the best advice I can provide is if you put in the effort into the shelfs, you will be well prepared for dedicated.

Scores:
Step 1 - 263
UW first pass ~84%
Shelfs (All within 99-100th percentile)
UWSA1 (taken after IM 9 mos before step)- 271
(Remainder taken within 2 weeks of step)
NBME6- 269
NBME7-261
NBME8-269
UWSA2-274
Step 2- 281

First off, excellent work! Some ruminations from someone who under-performed.

I think I struggled with those questions where elimination was the only possible way to answer the question because the answer choice really wasn't covered in any high yield resources. I was better prepared on my shelf exams for those types of questions because my knowledge base was better for them. I had similar UW assessment scores as you and lower NBME scores and scored in the low 260s, despite also doing well on third year shelves. I think the issue for me was that I didn't retain sufficiently and needed longer to regain lost knowledge. 3 weeks for me was not enough. I am impressed how well you retained, insofar as you only needed 2 weeks.

I liked the UWorld 2 questions more because it tested some tougher pathophys. I am not so good at this elimination intuition I suppose. I think that's why I tend to prefer exams where all you need is the question to get a specific answer and just look for it among the choices. I am not a fan of needing to battle the choices against one another. I think that is why I always tended to favor the quantitative type questions on standardized tests. I would just solve the problem and get either a numerical answer or variables in the form the question required, and then just pick. I don't like eliminating choices and going with my gut type tests.

Anyway, once again, congrats!

Took my exam sept 19, I was wondering when was the latest date of last week’s score release? Just seeing if my score is coming out this week. Kind of nervous.

It should come out this week. For IMGs you could login to IWA and see if the testing permit link has disappeared. I guess you could do the same thing if you're AMG

Is this a reliable indicator of whether the score is coming up? My permit is still there (IWA) and I took the test on the 17th.

I took it the 19th and mine is gone but idk if that’s because my testing period ended at the end of September?
I just realized when you click the link it says its gone. I thought the link itself disappears.

Update: link is gone now too for me

I think it is, but the link should entirely disappear. Some people still have the link but when they click the permit is no longer available. In my experience the link disappears completely.
