May be less of an issue since Dental Anesthesiology Residency is now a path to licensure in NYS.

No, this changed. Completion of DA residency now gets you a dental license as of
This past Spring.

1) there’s a significant number of increased applications this year as compared to years past
2) this years application pool is extremely competitive

It is such a bummer that we cannot visit programs.. I am struggling to evaluate pros and cons of programs without seeing them and the area, etc.. I go back and forth constantly on rank order.. ugh

Go with your gut! Don’t stress over location when such a majority of your time will be spent working! That’s my plan

don’t expect too much communication from
Programs. This is normal. Go with your gut on how the interview went. Send a polite thank you email. It’s OK to say you’re interested or that you think their program would be a good fit for you. DO NOT try to get them to say anything in terms of making a “deal” for the match. You’ll probably hear back from the program if you sent a thank you email and that will be it. Most programs make their rank list immediately after interviews. Very little will change this decision at that point. Now it’s just time To wait for the match. Good luck eveyrone!

Pittsburgh interviewed 18 out of 82 total applicants, NYU interviewed 25.. that’s all I know about
