PickyBicky said:If your english is this poor, so too are your chances of matching.
misbah said:i must tell you that english is my foreign language but even sorry for that since i just posted it without checking the grammer.but will you rate me on the basis of my grammer and not the knowledge which i have.
medlaw06 said:Hi...how are you? While I can't comment on how your chances are @ Johns Hopkins since I have not researched the program myself, I would like to say WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, that this is not the appropriate forum for issues regarding chances of obtaining a residency spot...your question regarding the program is, of course, valid on this thread. And I don't think it can hurt to search that program on places like www.scutwork.com or google or yahoo to find out more info on the program....Also, it never hurts to schedule the interview and see for yourself how you like that place...
IN regards to what are your chances, I am not sure about this, but you may wanna check out the FMG/IMG posts and ask around to see how other people with similar scores as yourself have matched....and other questions that you may also have will probably be answered as well....there are FMG grads who are in US residencies that often post on those threads....
Don't mean to be disrespectful...I understand your concerns....and I wish you luck in your pursuits....
Take care

blackelevator said:Hi, I am an IMG. I was following this thread for a while. I am getting worried. I have good scores 250/264 for Step 1 and 2 CK and passed CS but, so far, I have 2 interviews only!So I am curious if something wrong with my applications or because I am an IMG and programs review ours after AMGs applications.
Invitations:
UT Med S at Houston
Lahey Clinic
Rejections:
York Hospital
Drexel U
U Neveda-Reno
I think two weeks notice would be fine- that would give them time to invite someone else for your spot.BigBadBix said:Question about canceling interviews - for those of you who are thinking you'll cancel some eventually, do you know how far in advance it is appropriate to notify them? I don't want to cancel at the last minute, but obviously I need to wait until I hear back from more programs after Nov 1.
InternalWhizzzz said:I think the determining factor for interviews, is based solely on step 1 or step 2 grades...
I really doubt anything else matters...
DrNick2006 said:you better be sure that your gonna be rated on your english competency as well as your knowledge because medicine in the US is multidiciplinary and based on communication, and if you are not proficient in both written and spoken english you will not be successful nor respected.

TommyGunn04 said:Hopkins doesn't notify anyone until the MSPE's are in. According to the Hopkins website, "All applicants will be reviewed the week of November 3rd. All applicants will be notified via e-mail November 9, 2005."
Maybe PickyBicky was referring to a different JHU? (or perhaps just trying to freak people out 😱 )

Zolpidem25 said:hey BigBadBix--
is your Univ. of Washington the one in St. Louis, or in Seattle?
also, if/when you decide to cancel an interview, are you going to just do it by e-mail, or do you plan on sending something in writing? i'm just trying to figure out the most courteous way to retract....
congrats on Mt. Sinai...
bbart76 said:Maybe some schools offer their own students applying for medicine programs an interview before the MSPE is out.
BigBadBix said:I think this definitely does happen. However, in this case I think a better explanation is that PickyBicky is a troll and likes to freak people out.
