Yup. To get back for micro lab on a Tuesday afternoon. I leave from San Fran at about 10 PM and get back to NC in the mid-morning. 😴

I'm doing the exact same to get back from UOP interview for an Animal Physiology lab

Ah lucky. I am doing the opposite. Leaving at night after lab day and get to interview at 5am :scared:

nice to see everyone over here talking about getting 'too many' interviews to be able to afford while I'm sitting in my room freaking out that I haven't gotten 1 yet

I feel ya. I only have one and feel very inadequate after seeing all these people here with handfuls of interview invites.

Let's remain upbeat and hopeful 🙂

I haven't read of any invites from Texas schools in a while. Any updates?

Try Jersey. There's public transportation to get you to Manhattan.

way ahead of you. figure i would save a ton of cash just hopping a train to the island. gotta be in jersey the next day anyway.

Don't let these guys who complain about "too many" interviews get to you. (Yes, we're all jealous of you...we get it).

Keep your head up and just focus on your own life. That's what I'm doing.

Question: I just received my invite to complete a secondary application for UCSF on 9/6. Does anyone know if this is a late invitation??? Or did they just start sending them out? My app was complete 7/20. Just curious

I didn't get in last year because my shadowing was very low and my DAT was only average (19AA/19TS/22PAT/lowest 18 bio)
This year I didn't apply to MOSDOH, umkc, Colorado, Midwestern (il), and Marquette.

It is due 2 weeks from when you receive it so it is different for everyone.

According to the thread, the first one went out on August 1st so I wouldn't exactly say that yours is late but they have been sending them out slowly.

Yeah, my shadowing was very very low so if you think my past scores were fine, you are probably right. I just wanted to be even more competitive.

what schools did you interview at last year, and why did you not get in?

They knew your shadowing hours were low before they interviewed you, which means they were considering you with the low hours. If your hours were too low they would not have wasted their time and your time going through the interview process. There was a different reason why you did not get in. I am a re-applicant as well and I can tell you that the reasons I speculated at were not the reasons that prevented me from being extended an offer.

Trust me, it was. I had 24 hours and that's what the schools said. The rest of my app was solid minus an average DAT.

I really doubt it's your DAT scores that didn't get you in. Low GPA perhaps?

No the schools I applied to told me it was my shadowing hours. One did say I should try to improve my DAT in order to have a chance.

Hmmm I would have asked them why they interviewed you then if you didn't have a shot. Seems strange to me, what would be the point??? And that DAT score is slightly above average, the PAT is close to 90th percentile, you consider that average?

from ADA: Using scale scores it is possible to more readily compare
the performance of one examinee with the performance of all examinees. Scores used in the
testing program range from 1 to 30. There are no passing or failing scores; a scale score of
17 typically signifies average performance on a national basis.

This is why when people post stats the format is to list any section below 17 b/c that is below average. Granted you need above average to get into dental school but 75th percentile and higher is not average. 19s are considered competitive at top 10 schools for in-state students and 20 for out of state. 22 PAT is good anywhere. Perhaps you mean average compared to those who post their stellar stats on this site.

Regardless I wish you much success this round!

Don't worry, they're going to start coming.

I didn't get my second one until about 2 full months. This is already september and I think yours will start to roll in sooner..
