Hmmm I would have asked them why they interviewed you then if you didn't have a shot. Seems strange to me, what would be the point??? And that DAT score is slightly above average, the PAT is close to 90th percentile, you consider that average?
from ADA: Using scale scores it is possible to more readily compare
the performance of one examinee with the performance of all examinees. Scores used in the
testing program range from 1 to 30. There are no passing or failing scores; a scale score of
17 typically signifies average performance on a national basis.
This is why when people post stats the format is to list any section below 17 b/c that is below average. Granted you need above average to get into dental school but 75th percentile and higher is not average. 19s are considered competitive at top 10 schools for in-state students and 20 for out of state. 22 PAT is good anywhere. Perhaps you mean average compared to those who post their stellar stats on this site.
