Oh sorry. I don't think the Columbia has not updated their FAQ document. I watched one of webinar section, and the admission team mentioned that there is no early acceptance program. Though, it's better to be submitted as early as possible. As long as all of your documents are submitted and verified, i think it should be fine.

My professor received a weird email after she submitted my letter of recommendation. It stated that they have "received your email request" and gave her a case number. Did anyone else's recommenders get one? She followed instructions and emailed it to [email protected].

To all the applicants: best of luck with your applications! As you wait for your results, do not forget to maintain your grades and have a life (kinda contradicting, right...)! Whether you make it into SHPEP or not does not define you as a person. I know there are a couple weeks left so if you have not finished your application, do so now!

I have mentioned before that I am a 2018 SHPEP McGovern Medical School Alumnus. SHPEP was a life event for me. I will remember each moment, every person, and everything I learned like the back of my own hand 'tilI I die. I grew as a human being with people who all aspire to do the exact same thing as you and that is so unique. Every so often I will get sentimental about my memories from SHPEP - it means that much to me. Strive hard and head up, y'all!

Yes, mine was a bit over but it was still within the allowed characters. My application was verified and processed so I think it should be fine.

Ugh, this happened to my essay. It was fine until I submitted my application, then my paragraphs were all just a jumbled mess and I had like four instances where I used quotations so it looks wonky hahaha. I hope that this glitch doesn't hurt my personal statement...
 
One more question, how long after your rec letter was emailed did it take to be verified and received on the application status? Thanks guys
 
Hi Everyone! I submitted by application TODAY so I am kind of nervous about that. I applied to Dental for Howard, Univ of Washington, & Houston (I'm a TX resident but school in Florida)
Stats:
3.93 GPA
A lot of clinical & extracurricular experience (maxed out 10)
In my University's Dual Admission dental program, so I already have a reserved spot in their Dental school (as long as I maintain a certain GPA)
I'm a minority (immigrant from Kenya & spoke about that in my personal statement)
 
Did anyone receive a confirmation email from SHPEP after submitting their application?

I also applied to these three program sites. Anxiously waiting for March 15 to come so I can see the decision lol. Good luck! :)

My recommendation still hasn't been received or processed and my professor sent it by mail on January 29th. Hopefully it was postmarked...

I got a confirmation email that they received it. But it's been more than 10 business days so I called the number in the email. The person that spoke with me on the phone said they were behind in processing the recommendations... if this helps anyone. I'm still nervous though, I keep checking every day.

I would recommend contacting this person. I had a similar problem, but with my transcript. I had sent it early January and got an email saying they recieved it, but after sumbitting my application, the status said "Not yet Recieved" for about a few days. I contacted the program specialist and she searched my transcript in the system and was able to find it and upload it to my application. The status then changed to "Recieved and Verified". I think she may be able to help you as well with your recommendation letter.

You're welcome! Hopefully it's an error in the system. I'm pretty sure the program specialist can look into it for you and see if they recieved it.

I was wondering the same thing, if our decision would be posted at midnight or tomorrow morning? I guess I'll be up at midnight to find out lol.

It’s posted 12 am eastern time so 9pm for all of us on the west coast
