I also did not get an email or anything from my program site. I think the best thing to do is to call the school and find out what is the next step after confirming our decision.

SAME!! I just got off the phone with the guy. I let go of other opportunities and now I have to salvage my summer somehow. It's ridiculous and so irresponsible on their part.
I called Rutgers this morning to find out when they would start sending out acceptance emails for those who were accepted. They said there was a in glitch in their system that caused it to accept more than 80 students, so once they take care of that, they will start sending out emails hopefully next week. The person I spoke to said that those applicants who lost their spot after being accepted will be put on a waitlist for other program sites. If those sites have space available, then they will accept applicants off the waitlist. I'm also worried that I might get an email saying that I lost my spot from Rutgers. This is definetly irresponsible of them!!

Wow so glad you have more details about this. They were super vague with me. Honestly, this is super devastating because I let go of all other summer opportunities.
Same here. I thought I was being personally attacked, I’m sorry this happened to you as well. Hopefully we will get accepted into another site soon to give us some peace of mind.
I'm sorry this happened to you. Hopefully other progam sites will offer you a spot. Keep positive vibes! If anything, I would recommend try calling Rutgers again and see if you can get your spot back because originally you were accepted. I will keep you updated if my status changes too. I have a feeling it might 🙁

Have hope. Maybe another program site might end up accepting you. When you got the email saying you were accidently accepted, was that directly from Rutgers or SHPEP/National Program Office?

Lol. Dream big and don't doubt yourself, you never know what can happen. I'm really hoping you get accepted into any of the other program sites! You should check with the National Program Office once or twice a week if they have any slots available.
Hello, I got in for UT Medical, and I was wondering what you do during the program on weekends? Also how do meals and housing/roommates work? I hope this is isn’t too random! They haven’t sent us much info yet so I’m just curious 🙂

I’m not sure the person you’ve been reaching out to but if you look at my previous posts in this forum, you’ll find the program specialists contact info. I had a problem with my transcript and she helped me take care of it. I think if you reach out to her, she might be able to help you with choosing another program site.
I’m pretty sure that’s when the decision was made. For Rutgers my action date was 02/15/2019 and that’s the date I submitted my application. I was also surprised they made a decision that quick.
