hey I interviewed on 01/20 toooo! just got my acceptance as well!! so hard ot decide between Nova and UPENN???! But i think UPENN it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!😛

oooofh. Congratulations everyone! I had my interview on the 21st and haven't heard yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed tho.
 
aww lol I am glad u got in too!!!!!! I didnt expect to get in quite honestly! :idea: but I am sooo happy!! I think I will def attend!! what about u?? did u hear from buffalo yet?? :xf:

Same here. Looks like we didn't make the first cut. Anyone here who interviewed on 21st heard back from Corky?
 
Hey guys
I interviewed on Jan 20th and desperately waiting as well.
It seems like everyone who get accepted are getting the acceptance letter about 1.5~2 weeks after their interviews....
I called Corky twice and e-mailed her like 3 times and now she's not responding. I'm sure she got annoyed at me...🙁

I'm an international applicant so I don't really know what american people think about UPenn dental school..

For me, the cost is not a problem, wherever i go, I have to get ~400k for my dental school education.

Do a lot of Americans choose UPenn over their state school?? [I wouldn't if it's 200k cheaper, but I have no choice, so I would rather go to an Ivy league school]

Do you guys know if it's possible to get accepted about a month later after the interview? [for post-December]
Because according to predents.com, there are only a few cases where people get accepted about a month later after their post-dec interviews...

I interviewed on 1/21. I got my acceptance letter yesterday. I got the dean's scholarship too, so maybe they sent my letter a little early (it was FedExed).

Got my acceptance packet today! Letter dated Feb 7; interviewed Jan 28. 🙂

I am still waiting on a couple of schools before I make my final decision...but otherwise, most likely! Ya....I'm pretty sure buffalo rejected me.
 
Interviewed on Jan 28th. Got my packet yesterday, Feb 9th. I'm in👍.
Got the Dean's Scholarship too...🙂
 
does anyone know if all interviewees from the same day get their decisions from the same adcoms/meeting?

so for example, if someone interviewed on the 20th and heard back already, and someone else didnt hear back. Does that mean he/she is on the waitlist?

If possible, can people post the date of their interviews along with the date on their acceptance packets?

EDIT: also, do they FEDEX all the acceptance packets? or only those with Dean's?

I hope not too 🙁. I think that I interviewed the same day as you DrDDSman, Jan 21st? A few of the people from our interview day have already gotten in.
 
Got accepted today!!! I interviewed on Feb 4th and after calling Corky today on the phone she told me my acceptance packet was mailed yesterday, so it will arrive within the next couple days or so.

NOTE: After talking to her at my interview, she told me to call her today (15th) because I had told her that I needed to put down a deposit at Maryland by tomorrow (16th) and it would be tremedously helpful to know where I stood beforehand. I have been going back and forth all day between Maryland and Penn and I think I am going with Penn. Tough choice though........

1. Do they ask any difficult questions?
2. Is it an open/closed file?
3. What score do you need to get Dean's scholarship?
4. How many interviewers do you have?

I read that you are at the NIH and applied later in the cycle. I too am at the NIH and applied late in the cycle. What institute do you work for? I am at NICHD (Child and Human Development) in a Genetics and Development Lab. Send me a personal message and you can call me with any questions about the Penn interview/experience, other schools, ect.

to shine some light:
1. Nope, at least not for me. Really conversational, just be yourself; they are just trying to get to know you as a person
2. one open, one closed, one brief talk with Corky
3. not sure about this
4. 2 official interviewers, and one talk with Corky (I am pretty sure she plays a part in the admission process too)

actually, i am currently away from home b/c of an interview @ USC, but my parents did tell me that a packet from PENN arrived today... I am assuming that its an acceptance packet 🙂

It's one of my top choices.......I just got back to my hotel from my UCLA interview and I will go there, no questions asked if accepted. I had high expectations and they were easily met and mostly exceeded. Now I will find out within the next 2 weeks. But I will for sure be going to Penn if UCLA doesn't work out

Yeah I was there. I was the guy from Idaho and was in all black

I agree that it felt very disorganized. As for the short PBL session, I get the feeling that although it was fun just listing ideas and such, the real thing would be much more annoying. I feel that I would get frustrated by all the time (they said 8 hours!!!) spent with this when I could get a lot more out of 8 hours, imo of course. Not impressed and way too expensive

Now I went to UCLA yesterday for an interview and all I have to say is WOW! What a difference! So much better for me

Congrats. I got mine on Saturday and it took 6 days to get from Philly to Idaho. But I already knew I was accepted earlier so I guess I wasn't really anxiously waiting

If I remember correctly during my interview the student tour guide I had stated that some lectures are beginning to be recorded on video. but a process to have all of them recorded is not in place. I believe this is what was said.
 
Does anyone know if they will tell you a decision (other than still in consideration) over the phone if you are not pressed to put a deposit anywhere?
