I am currently attending HICP and I just wanted to comment on some of the previous posts that are on this forum. First, I would like to plead with people not to be so negative about our school. Please just have a little compassion for all of us at HICP. Many of us have the academic credentials to get accepted to other schools, however, for our own personal reasons, we decided to attend HICP. Do no assume that everyone who attends is academically incable of attending any other school in the nation. Do not think, that just because you are attending an accredited school, you are better than any of us here at HICP.
Yes, our school is a first year school and we are going through all the hardships that any first year school shall have. Think about it, every single one of you, are going to a school that at some point was unaccredited. So please do not just close the door on our school. Every school has to start somewhere and all of us are optimistic that we will make it. Personally, my heart and soul has gone into this school. I have had more emotional ups and downs this year, than I have had my whole life. Regardless, I am working just as hard or harder than any student in the nation. If you guys knew anything about our school, you would know that we have many strict rules that most of you would never dream about having at your schools. Why? because we are unnaccredited, so we need to be better than other schools.
We are in a curriculum that integrates all our subjects and paints one big picture. We are learning in ways that haven't been taught before. Each and every one of the students who graduate from this school will be capable and prove to be an asset to our profession.
In closing, I am not going to lose my head and yell at everyone for saying what you say about our school, for this is a free country and that's what makes it so great, we can all have our own opinions. I am just kindly asking that you think about what you say before you say it because it is affecting 240 students that are hear busting there hump to try and succeed.
I hope this was a professional post for all of you to read, though I do not really care if you think it is or not. I just want everyone to realize that the 240 students that attend HICP are people too, and we do not appreciate it when people put us down as a group. If you have problems with us individually, then that is a different story.
PS. For all of the english critics on this forum, I would just like to point out that if you need papers to grade, go become a professor. Those of us from HICP that our posting, are not here to prove to anybody that we can write, we are just on here trying to stand up for our school. This is an informal setting in which people can post information about pharmacy schools to help the field of pharmacy.

The ACPE cannot prevent a school from opening but it can denial accreditation. However, since there is a high demand for pharmacy schools, students will flock to any schools such as HICP. These stand alone, for profit, pharmacy schools are opening up everywhere. It is sad that potential students do not truly understand the accreditation process. The ACPE just added new languages in their policy that make it even harder to gain accreditation.
I was surprised to read that Cliff Parks, the former HICP financial officer, will be the school's chief financial officer. This is interesting. I dont really think accreditation is the number 1 priority for these people. It is all about making money from desperate students. Whether or not, the school is granted accreditation, they will find enough suckers to fill their classes. This is truly sad.
Pharmacy schools such as HICP will make it harder for legit pharmacy schools from gaining accreditation. This will affect many of us, as well as the profession. If you truly want to make a difference and protect the profession, I urge you to take the time and email the ACPE <[email protected]> to voice your concerns! You can also email the newspaper that printed the article <[email protected]>
