I don’t know much regarding their linkage. I emailed the school because I would love to go there. I’ll let you know what they say.

I am in a dilemma right now because I just received my acceptance today for fall of 2019 through email but I am not sure if I am able to go. I just started my scribe job since I need to work on my clinical experience. I honestly did not expect the acceptance letter since I applied to PCOM last month lol. I feel if I accept this offer, I will have a very low clinical experience by then and I think they would reject me during the interview for PCOM DO for that even if I passed their requirements. What do you guys think?

cGPA: 3.42
sGPA: 3.30
MCAT: 505

Do you have any other experiences? Like with volunteering or shadowing at all?

Yeah, I did 50 hours of shadowing at PCP physician and 100 hours of volunteer/clerical work in the hospital (I don't think this one may not count as clinical though). Now I just started with 10-20 hours as a medical scribe I believe.

Not to be that guy but with ur stats you don’t need a masters. If I was you I would apply broadly to DO this cycle you will get in direct.

Honestly I feel like that’s good enough experience for whenever you apply! Lots of DO schools like to see volunteering and shadowing but aren’t too worried about having a ton of clinical experience.

True, only thing is I just have a lot of stuff going on right now and the acceptance letter probably came at the worst timing. Do they allow deferment for next year? If they do, that would be great and I can also work on DO application for the fall of 2020. If the DO application does not work out, I will at least have a backup option for deferment. I will email them to see if they allow deferment. Otherwise, I might go for this fall.

Yeah, I get it but medical school app cycle is a crapshoot so I just want to make sure I am maximizing my chances to get into DO school. I don't know if that makes sense.

You might be able to talk to the director of the program and see what they think / if they'll let you defer?

My deferment request for next year was approved. Hopefully to any applicants who are still on the waitlists will receive the acceptance letter for my seat.

Orientation has changed to Aug 7th 9:30 - 5:45 PM and August 8th 9:30 - 5 PM.

I have not been receiving any emails from PCOM since my acceptance. Anyone else?

Hello, I've recently applied because I got an email about open spots. I already got into the MS program at LECOM, but PCOM is closer to home. Should I hold my breath for this program? I basically have a week to figure things out if I'm moving to Erie.

The Lecom program is better
Thanks for responding. May I know why you think so please? I was hoping to do the one year certificate at PCOM. It seems like the same deal, just without the masters that LECOM offers.

Are all your materials submitted? If so PCOM might get back to you in less than a week! I feel like both programs are pretty similar in terms of rigor and preparation for med school. the biggest difference might be in the conditional acceptance/ interview policies.

I submitted everything, but they aren’t marked as received on the portal. :/ I don’t want to nag the people at admissions but I’m kind of running out of time lol!

Understandable! I know it can take up to 2 weeks for them to mark everything as received but maybe if you called them or the director of admissions, honestly, and told them your situation they could move things along quicker!

Hm, I didn’t consider that. I’ll try! Thanks!

just talk to two people from ga campus they say the biomed program is not good any thoughts ??
I have had conversations with a couple of people that went to PCOM-GA. Some had good experiences and some had bad experiences. The ones that I spoke to that had positive things to say did well in the program and eventually got into the DO program at the GA campus or got an acceptance at another medical school (they complained about a few things but the negatives didn't influence their grades). The ones that had bad experiences didn't get into the DO program and I stopped hearing from them (they complained so much about so many things). What I have learned is that you're going to get the results you're looking for if you put forth the right effort.

If you're doing this program because you have a really low GPA, you better get your stuff together the program is suppose to be hard that's the only way you're going to grow and mature as a student. If it takes a few negative comments to scare you off, then I don't think you had the right mindset to begin with to be successful in this program.

Good luck to those that will be attending!
I will apply to the program and a few others next year.

My application was marked as complete 6 days ago. Do you think it's possible I hear back (if I get in) in the next two days?

My letter was dated 3 days after all my materials were in and took about 4 days in the mail if that helps!

I have a question, where is the portal to check the status of your application? I got the status on GradCas that it is complete. I got an email from PCOM that they received it, but how do you check to see if they got everything else? I know they have my GRE scores. I just wanted to check if they have my LOR.

The acknowledgment email from PCOM should have the link and user/password! I attached screenshots 🙂

Thanks for your post. I did get an email that they received it. However, I got a different email that didn't mention GradCAS or the pin. I just emailed them so hopefully they will send me a pin. The heading of my email was similar to yours with a different number after my name of course. Also it didn't mention that they received it from GradCAS. I got screwed by one of my LORs. I asked in June for them to write one and this person dropped the ball majorly.

BTW for anyone wondering, this past Saturday, I was sent an email that they still had seats available for the fall. It was a general email to still apply even though I had already submitted my application.

I am looking for a female roommate for the Georgia Campus! Please respond ASAP if interested!

Hey everyone. I'm really hoping someone here can help me out and quell my worries. Currently, my application status shows that my transcripts, LOR, etc. has been received. Unfortunately, my GRE is missing. After speaking to ETS, I've been told that it can still take 3-5 days for it to reach PCOM from when they send it out tomorrow. However, I've also been admitted to another program (LMUDCOM) where classes start Friday (Aug 2nd). What can I do to hasten the process? I do have an old MCAT attempt that is abysmal at 491. Should I send PCOM the MCAT, risking a rejection in hopes a quicker admissions decision? P.S. my GRE is a 316.

Honestly if you're play with going to the GA campus, you can email the pdf print screen report of your mcat score to the admissions email and itll probably get marked as recieved the next day. I dont know about the PA campus, but I am pretty sure GA will take you as they have seats open and prob want to fill them asap
I applied to the PA campus and tried to send it that way already. I was told they only accept GRE reports through USPS from ETS directly.

You might also just want to contact the admissions office because the application deadline is August 1st for PCOM. To be honest PCOM is a better school compared to LMU.

I have a question for those whom have been accepted to the program: did you find out you were accepted by email or by snail mail first? I was just wondering because I recently sent in my application and have been checking my email like crazy to see if I got accepted or not. Also, was there a particular time of day that they sent the email or was it at random?

Hey everyone, I was recently admitted into the program and I was wondering when orientation and classes start for the GA campus. I already sent in my forms and pre-deposit, but haven’t got any info yet. Thanks

AHH I am so stressed out! Do you get an indication of acceptance/rejection through email first? That is what I read from a previous comment, but not sure
