There is no perfect solution. But once again - the American people (lower to middle class) gets the short end of the stick.
This lockdown was a concerted effort to shutter small business, reduce the number of colleges
Study up dude. There is no herd immunity for any of the 7 Corona Viruses that infect human beings. If we had a competant government we would have done everything to boost testing. Testing and contact tracing would have allowed us to escape the draconian measures needed to flatten the curve. It was totally successful. We came within a whisker of overwhelming the healthcare system. If you think we would have surviced w/o the lock down you have been taking some serious acid or watching Fox News....
Substitute testing for breaking through and you get the idea. A massive government effort is what is required.
I'm not making this up, expert epidemiologists have concluded that because this virus has most likely infected 30% of the population already we could have been on our way to reaching herd immunity if at least 80% were infected.
For those interested in a different perspective other than the nonsense spewed by media and data that has been misrepresented. The national and global response to this "deadly virus" goes against microbiology 101 and basic principles of epidemiology. These Youtube videos present expert opinion, not a software engineer whose only solution to this is social distancing and a vaccine.
