I got on the Wait List yesterday by mail. Does anyone know when the wait list movement start? How likely for people to get off the wait list?

I know for sure after the April 15th date if there are empty seats the wait list will move don't know how likely but I know people who were on the wait list and came off during the summer and they are currently first year DOs
 
My fiancé got a delayed decision letter today saying something about spring grades. Anyone else in the same position? What does that mean exactly?
 
i'm in the same position. it just means that they have to submit grades from this current semester before the admissions committee will decide acceptance, waitlist, or rejection status. they are holding off on any of these three until spring grades are submitted to pcom

I apparently was waitlisted on March 22nd and then accepted on March 25th. I didn't check my mail until after I got my acceptance email so I received both letters at the same time. So I guess the waitlist is already moving?

So if it's at the end of April when classes end, then won't the wait list move before he will know anything? Sorry it's just all so confusing! Good luck to everyone!
 
yes. as people have already stated, the waitlist is currently moving and some people are already getting off the waitlist.
he will have to wait until april/may and then pcom will decide. if accepted, yay. if denied, then oh no. if waitlisted, it's possible to get in all the way up until the week before classes in august.

Wow OK hopefully I will hear something soon then since the wait list movement has started. Cross fingers because I would go to ga-pcom in a heart beat. But @creid11 did you send your wait list acceptance letter back? Or you did not and they just send you the acceptance email later?

I ignored the waitlist letter since it was postmarked before the acceptance letter and then just paid my deposit.

I need to start working on finding room mates.
 
WL letter today. was previously on academic hold following my mid february interview. a little confused since they previously told me that my app is on ice until spring grades come out

I am not 100% sure but I believe that Aise has to add you because she is the admin of the page. She will add you once she can. She is very busy and will be out of town for a few weeks. It's still really early. There has been housing talk on the FB page and everyone says it's stikl early in the game. So be patient you will be added you will find roommate. You can start here that's how I found my roommates last year.

It probably means that they reached their goal of accepted applicants.
 
Hey all, I was wondering if lectures are available online? Also was hoping if anyone comment on the quality of the clinical rotations here?? Thanks in advance.

PCOM uses tegrity to record lectures but they are not posted until after class. But lectures are online to go back and reference.
 
hard decision but just officially declined my acceptance - best to 2020 class and whoever will be getting that call for my spot. hope y'all rock it

I don't know how many people PCOM wait listed. Though I am curious of the number. I heard of a MD med school that 1/3 of their entering class were wait listed.

Thanks for your wish to the the wait-list people like me! Your message just gave me a new hope for an acceptance in this cycle! I hope that you have an amazing experience at wherever you chose to go for medical school.
 
Has anyone heard from the wait list yet? If the second deposit was due last Friday how long do you think it will take to send out the second round of acceptances?

i'm guessing they haven't sent them out. there will be multiple acceptances and odds are, at least one or a few of them would say so here that they were accepted

My Banner Web added a $1750 DO deposit section yesterday, but I haven't received an email yet today. I called and was told that means I was accepted, but I have been waiting for the official email before sounding any alarms. Maybe that is the case with some of you as well
 
Does anyone know if there is an accepted students day?

Congratulations!!! I think you make it because I read somewhere in this cycle/last cycle that people got their banner change before email or letter. May I ask when was your interview and when did you get waitlisted? Are you from Georgia or Atlanta native?
 
Sure, I interviewed 2/19 and waitlisted about two weeks after. Yep, born and raised in Atlanta

So like the thing where it has the dates for when each requirement was received got an added tab for the deposit?
 
So I have an odd question. Is there a certain type of stethoscope that PCOM GA recommends that we get? My MIL wants to buy me a littman cardio lll as a gift. Just checking to make sure that model will suffice. Thanks

No, you can purchase whatever type you want. I believe during the first week of school they have a representative from some company come out to advertise and make sales of stethoscopes and other medical equipment. Many students go out and buy their own and do not purchase from the rep, so it really does not matter.

movement from the waitlist has already begun. Several people who were WL before are now accepted students.
