OMG guys! I got the deposited section as well guys !!! I think the accepted letter will come later !!! The waitlist movement is happening !!

Yes more than likely you got accepted. You could call the school to verify. I wonder why some people get am email and others have to wait for a letter in the mail? anyways congratulations to you and all the other that recently got accepted. Cant wait to meet you all in the fall. 🙂

you should call admissions ASAP to confirm that it is a real acceptance. A friend of mind had a friend who got the deposit change on his application summary and he took a screen shot and everything and when he logged back in the deposit was gone. Not sure if there was a glitch in the system or what. I would def. call admissions to be sure though and make sure the same doesn't happen to you.

I think it's not a glitch because I tried to login in and off few times, and it's still there. I called admission office, and the said it most likely correlated to an acceptance.

I think you are correct. The link has re-appeared and they told he he got accepted. Congratulations to you guys.

So I have an odd question. Is there a certain type of stethoscope that PCOM GA recommends that we get? My MIL wants to buy me a littman cardio lll as a gift. Just checking to make sure that model will suffice. Thanks
I asked a current first year at PCOM and he said that all of the students order it through the school because they have major discount for their students, so he told me he would advise me to wait. They all own the Littmann Cardiology III one tho.

I just saw the deposit link on my bannerweb and just went to the mailbox, and its official just got the acceptance letter
interviewed 2/19- waitlisted in march-
Class of 2020 cant wait to meet all of you

Does this mean there are no more seats now? Do you know when will they stop handing admission? I pray I received one.

Really? because all the first year and upper class students I spoke to told me not to get it through them. They referred me to a store close by that we could find the other equipment cheaper and told me to get the s

Nobody knows. They can accept people up until the first week of class of until the class is filled which ever happens first.

Its semi early for the waitlist movement frankly.....it usually moves quite a bit at lower tier schools (not to say PCOM is lower tiered or not)

If someone's getting it for you as a gift, take it.

Every year the surgery club does a giant order through steeles so you can order all of your stuff, some of it, or none through surgery club. Don't worry about this stuff until school starts because they'll give you a list of what you need. Right now you guys need to worry about enjoying your summer haha

Where would you see it? In the application summary or is it a separate link? I can't log in; mine just says "You are not authorized to use the Web Information Systems. Please contact the Student Records Office for more information" whatever that means.....🙁

I saw it at the top of the application summary page from where all the information from your secondary is listed (its the same page as where your address and letters of rec are marked received) its all listed on the same page and it stated to "click here to make a payment" etc. I think i got that message when i tried going directly to the bannerweb page, but then i went back in my email and went to the email that i received right after my secondary was received and that had the link to click for the "online application summary status" page.
I hope that helps you

Can any current students comment on how they use recorded lectures? Do you go to class at all? If you don't, how often to you go to campus for reasons other than class? E.g., study, meetings with faculty or staff, OMM lab, extracurricular activities (clubs etc.)

I'm asking because I currently live about 25 minutes (without traffic) from campus and I am trying to determine if I need to be closer. I have a young family and my wife and I like the area we are currently in but are willing to move if necessary. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Has anyone mailed in their final transcripts yet? And if so, do we just mail it to the general address? (Just want to make sure I'm not missing a special P.O Box or something)

This was on the Facebook page:
Hello, hope each of you are well. Just a FYI: Once you have confirmed your seat, and you are planning on matriculating into our Fall, 2016 DO class, yes, you will need to submit all of your final offiicial transcripts from any institution that you have ever attended before you can begin classes. Once AACOMAS opens your transcripts, they are no longer official to us. You may have them electronically sent or mailed to our campus. I will be at Warrant Officer Candidate School from 30 March to 4 May, so if you plan on having your final official transcripts electronically sent, please have them e-mailed to [email protected]. Or, you may have them mailed to ATTN: Admissions, GA Campus- PCOM, 625 Old Peachtree Road, Suwanee, GA 30024. Disclaimer: Facebook and your peers are not not Admissions, so If you need facts in regard to requirements for our institution, please call me at 678-225-7500, ext. 7531, and/or e-mail me at [email protected] with your questions at least until I leave for WOC school, and when I return., or visit our website at pcom.edu. I am always at your service, and want to ensure that you are well informed, as opposed to making your decisions based off of assumptions. As always, congratulations on this next chapter in your educational journey.

Sincerely,

Aise Cannon

Tegrity is used to record lectures and then they are posted later on that night after class. All the extra stuff will up to you depending on how involved you are. Most students go to class you have to click in for clicker points that's part of your grade. I don't know anyone who doesn't come to campus even if they don't come to class they are usually on campus during class time studying in the library. It's all your preference.

It honestly depends on the term. First year you don't have that many mandatory lectures but when you do you have to be there or else you get points deducted from your percentage grade in that class (ranges from .5 to 2 points). They also have clickers that are part of your grade but I know plenty of people who didn't go for most of them and still passed, it depends how much they are worth of your grade in that class so it varies. If you didn't come to any classes including mandatory lectures, you'd really only need to be on campus tuesdays and thursdays for the clinical skills class and OMM lab (plus labs during anatomy and neuro blocks) because you'd 100% fail those for not showing up. Second year the last term is 95% mandatory so if you didn't come, you'd probably be screwed although there is an unspoken rule that they can't fail you just for attendance if your test grades are passing (not sure if anyones tested that out). Honestly though, 25 mins isn't that bad assuming you're coming from ITP and against rush hour traffic. Plenty of people do it and come to lecture every day. So if you have a house and your kids are in school in that area, I'd recommend just staying there. PS. there are plenty of people who are never on campus ie people with families or who just like studying at home and people who are just sick of the place (most 2nd years)

Hello guys, I just have a quick question: When is the orientation? and When does the class officially start?

Hey guys, for those of you who got pulled off the wait list earlier this week (or last week) do you mind telling me when your deadline is? I just wondered approximately when you have to pay your deposit by so I can get an idea of the next round of students that will be pulled off the wait list (I've been wait listed and I'm really hoping to hear from them).

I deposited mine on Monday as soon as I received the letter. But the deadline is May 11 for depositing the money.

Just received a pretty rejection email from PCOM. Not too bummed as I got into one of my top choice schools! Best wishes to everyone else!

PM me if interested in my stats.

Hello guys! I have a couple of questions. Did you guys send your final transcripts to PA-PCOM or GA-PCOM office of admissions? Did you send it electronically or by snail mail?

Thanks!

I sent two separate transcripts for two different schools. One electronically and one snail mail. Both to GA campus. Both marked as received.

GA - PCOM electronically.

I was accepted back in March and still have not been invited to the Facebook group. I sent Aise an email requesting to be added to the group days after my acceptance. The email might have been buried. Should I send another request?

I wonder the same thing. How can recent accepted students get to the facebook group as well?

When I sent her an email about the Facebook group, I got an automatic reply saying she's on military leave until 5/5. I'm sure she has more important things to catch up on once she gets back than the Facebook group, so just be patient.

Also-I'm excited about meeting everyone at the accepted students luncheon on June 13! 🙂

If you send me your email address I can try to see if I can add you.

Anyone received their background check instructions from PCOM yet?

accepted! 🙂 so happy! 🙂

now waiting to be added to Facebook 🙂

I live about 30 mins away with my wife and chitlins and I've been doing the commute for 2 years now, and I have had zero issues.

I go to class as little as possible and use tegrity, and I have had no problem saying on top of classes (however you really need to evaluate for yourself how to be successful because everyone is different). OMM lab is once a week and PCS lab is once a week, and those are mando. First year there is some guest lecture and anatomy/neuro labs mixed in which are also mandatory. Second year 3rd term is death by guest lecture and is 95% mandatory. Also some of the professors want attendance so they implement "clicker points" as part of your grade to push attendance. Sometimes these clickers are bonus, other times they are a direct part of your grade.

Ultimately you can make your schedule a little more flexible by skipping some classes, and it's definitely helpful, but there is a lot of mandatory stuff so you'll pretty much need to be on campus most days.

If you already accepted the federal stafford loan at this school, but decide to attend another school, will you be penalized? Or is it simply enough to notify the school and tell them so that they can cancel the loan for you?
Probably best to call the financial aid dept directly.

Well I got the acceptance today, but I already paid my deposits for Touro so idk what to do haha
