Yes! I just got an acceptance letter last week! Initially, I was placed on the wait list after I had an interview earlier this year. I'm afraid I don't know how often the AdCom meets, though.

To any current GA PCOM students -- is a double lumen stethoscope required, such as the Cardiology III, or is it ok to get the lighter, cheaper single lumen Classic II or III?

People get pulled off the wait list when there is movement on the confirmed list. No movement on that list the wait list remains the same.

Haven't heard anything other than the waitlist update email that they sent a few weeks ago. Been trying to contact them to see if they have gotten my updated grades from this past semester, but no response to emails I sent or voicemails that I left to the admissions people. No updates on the application status page either

If you send a transcript from the school it will show on the portal. If you sent it it is not official and they won't review it.
 
Does anyone know about submitting final transcripts? I had mine electronically sent to PCOM with no option for PCOM-GA. Will that be sufficient or will I need to have it sent electronically to the Georgia Campus?

i tried sending the transcript and contacting them and i haven't heard anything nor has it shown up on portal

When you order your transcripts online you should be able to choose the address to send it to and it should be to PCOM GA if they aren't an option you need to manually put it in. In the email they sent they provided the information to send it to.

Just a FYI: Once you have confirmed your seat, and you are planning on matriculating into our Fall, 2016 DO class, yes, you will need to submit all of your final offiicial transcripts from any institution that you have ever attended before you can begin classes. Once AACOMAS opens your transcripts, they are no longer official to us. You may have them electronically sent or mailed to our campus. I will be at Warrant Officer Candidate School from 30 March to 4 May, so if you plan on having your final official transcripts electronically sent, please have them e-mailed to [email protected]. Or, you may have them mailed to ATTN: Admissions, GA Campus- PCOM, 625 Old Peachtree Road, Suwanee, GA 30024. Anybody know or been accepted with a 497 MCAT? I called PCOM-GA yesterday, the admissions person said apply with a 497 after I told him my GPAs were approx 3.44 both cum and sci and that I went to a top 10 liberal arts school?

Just trying to gauge the validity of that? I am from north FL by the way...

I got in with a 28 idk if that's close to a 497 on the new one

lol sorry a 497 is really a 23.5 when converted. I know it is not good, but the admissions officer said the average MCAT is a 500 to 501 so I have to believe applicants like you who are above the 500 (which is a 26 now) can balance out an applicant like me.

I have heard that applicants below 500 due get accepted but there app needs to be otherwise outstanding.

I got a 495 on the new mcat and I'm currently waitlisted at GA-PCOM. I say go ahead and apply! You never know. I applied super late in the cycle and managed to get an interview.

That is good to hear! I sent in my app yesterday, and want to apply as early as possible.

I was accepted with a 496. Just gave up my seat . I had a few acceptances with a 3.6 gpa. But Pretty unique background.

Anyone accepted here without 3 LORs from science profs (or committee letter)? I have two science profs and a DO letter. Was thinking of applying here but if the LOR rule is pretty strict, I won't.

They are very strict on the letter requirement so don't bother if you don't have all the letters

To those accepted, how are you guys preparing for med school?

So far, I studied my route to PCOM which is a 30-50 minute drive depending on traffic. I also learned how to use Anki effectively.

I'm not. I'm chilling because I know that once we start, there will be no such thing as a break. Take the summer off and relax!

I was accepted with a 24 on the old MCAT!
 
The semester starts in about 3 weeks. I wish they put me out of my misery already.

When is orientation? So I could just move on after being wait listed for 6 months.
 
For the orientation on Monday, will you be coming in dressed for BLS training or business casual (change later)?
 
I believe Monday we are supposed to come dressed for BLS and then business casual Wed-Fri.
