Please Interpret Post-Rank List Correspondence

Finally heard back from my top choice program early this morning after the rank list was submitted last night. He wrote back "We would be thrilled to have you here. I look forward to the match and expect to see you on our list."

Can someone interpret what this means? Does it mean I appear somewhere on their rank list OR that I will likely appear on their list of interns in July? Or something else.

That's ranked to match, and sounds like you were highly ranked. And the email also sounds like you told them you are ranking them #1? top choice=#1? They expect to see you on their list of interns.

not to hijack this thread...but along the same lines...the response i got to a #1 email was: "I look forward to speaking to you on match day." Does this mean ranked to match?

There is absolutely nothing we nor residencies can do now, and since you can't change anything why worry about it?

Sounds encouraging but...you never know. Try to stay even keel/cautiously optimistic leading into the match and best of luck.
