In my experience, I did a post bacc that offered you the transition to a MS the second year. So I have a post bacc and a MS degree. The post bacc counted separately than that of my undergrad numbers on AADSAS because it was a graduate level post bacc, they then combined the the grades from both as my Graduate GPA and left the undergraduate numbers alone.I will be attending a one year masters program in the fall that will award an M.S. in Medical Genetics & Genomics. It is an SMP program that I thought up until now was exclusively a masters program. However, in the description it mentions how it is a post-bacc as well. I emailed an adcom, and she said that it depends on the school how they interpret GPA (continuation of bachelor, or stand-alone masters GPA).
My question is, are there such a thing as a post-bacc mixed with a masters? What will the dental schools do with my GPA?
Where is that postbacc and the master program located? Name? Thanks! In my experience, I did a post bacc that offered you the transition to a MS the second year. So I have a post bacc and a MS degree. The program has a second year option to receive both a certificate and a Masters of Science. So you do the one year and receive the certificate, the program helps facilitate your placement then into a department within the School of Medicine and once you complete the requirements there (typically within the next calendar year) the SOM awards the students with a Masters of Science in whatever department they pursued it. Searching this program just simplifies it.Not that it will move the needle, but let’s not confuse a “certicate” program with a master program.
