Figured I'd get this thread started so we can let each other know when we hear back about interview decisions! I'm a first time IS applicant🙂 I know admissions decisions came out earlier last year than they have in the past - it looks like IS acceptances happened in December rather than February. Has anyone heard anything about if they will be following the same schedule this year or going back to the old one?

Hi! I’m a second-time applicant, but this is my first time applying to Purdue. I’m OOS for Purdue.
I have not heard anything official about what their schedule might look like this year, but some other schools have mentioned an increase in applications this year compared to previous years, so it might not be as early as last year if Purdue also has a larger number of applicants. Here’s hoping we all get good news and don’t have to wait too long for it!

Has anyone gotten any contact or email from Purdue yet just to ensure they got your app and it’s processed? I haven’t gotten anything yet

I received an email on 9/19 saying that they received my application and that it was in the review process, but that is all so far

Do they interview oos as well ?
I *think* I remember seeing on last year’s thread that they send out IS first then interview OOS later! I’ll have to double check last year’s thread to see if that is true

For those with IS interviews, what’s your interview date?

I believe that is accurate from what I have heard from prior years. Our interview day is Nov. 22nd.

Does anyone know what time fame OOS applicants will hear about interview invites?

Did any IS students happen to get any information about when we will hear back about decisions? I know last year IS applicants were notified about 3 weeks after their interview date, but I was curious if anyone got the chance to ask about this year.

For those IS applicants who interviewed, what format was the interview? Did you only go and interview or was it more involved (tour, talking to current students, etc)?

All of the above! When you check in you'll get your interview time and it will be some time during the day. Our day lasted from 1pm-5pm with a reception afterwards. During the time you are not interviewing, there is a tour and different rooms you go in to talk with current students about different subjects like the canine educators, study abroad programs, and just general questions. Hope that helps!

Yes, thank you so much! What was the interview format? I’m guessing since it’s in person, it’s not MMI, but a longer interview. Any advice for their interview? Hoping to get one, and thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask and start preparing JIC!

it was a closed file interview with 2-3 people. i think they want you to just be truly yourself & want to see how you handle yourself. thats all the advice i can give!!!

Hi,
Does anyone from Purdue Vet school have an idea of how competitive you should be to get into Purdue DVM program?

Saw this post by Purdue CVM, was this only for in-state applicants? I never received an invite or anything and was wondering if other people received invites or something along those lines

I believe so. I applied OOS to Purdue last cycle and OOS interviews were later than the IS interviews. If the same general schedule applies to this cycle, OOS interviews will likely be in January. So don't worry! You haven't missed anything.
