I'm having trouble ranking some of the other programs I interviewed in; in terms of reputation, how would these programs compare:
Case Western, U Pitt, U of Iowa, U of Rochester, Dartmouth, Brown, BU, Mt. Sinai? I have seen the US News 2004 Rankings in another thread, but I couldn't find any other information here about most of the programs I listed. Thanks in advance.

Don't rank by reputation, rank by where you'd want to go. The Match system is very straightforward -- you get your highest possible choice. People who try to game the system are the ones who end up in residencies they don't want to go to.

I agree with Mumpu that you should rank based on what you want. However, since I know reputation is a part of the process of deciding where you want to be, especially if you might do a fellowship, I'll give you my $0.02:

I would put Sinai highest on your list in terms of reputation. Based on word of mouth out on the interview trail, I think Pitt, Rochester, Brown & Case are approximately equal. I know basically nothing about Dartmouth and Iowa.

As you probably know, a quick way to assess reputation is to look at fellowship placement. I usually look at where people go overall (community vs university-based fellowships; how many stay at the same insitution vs. going elsewhere) and how many of those who are interested in GI and cards match on their first try. That gives me a good sense of how the program's graduates are viewed outside of their own institution.

I hope that helps. I'm at Rochester and have close friends doing internship at Pitt, so PM me if you want any info about those 2 programs. (BTW, I just have to tell you that Dr. Bordley is AWESOME and I would love to have him as my PD!) 🙂
