SDN party on FB= EPIC lol 😍 😀

A newfoundland was found as a stray wandering the streets carrying a stuffed elephant around with him and brought to my shelter. I wrote on all his paperwork that the elephant had to stay with him and it actually worked out. Today he was supposed to go to surgery so I came in early to put his toy in a bag and write a note about it. He was crying when I took it from him. When he came back from surgery there was no elephant. Apparently one of the ladies that works in the medical department saw the poor state it was in and stuffed it with some cotton balls, stitched it up, and ran it through their little washer and dryer. Mr. Newfie has his cute little pink elephant back and apparently a wealthy donor is interested in adopting him so he'll have a wonderful life with lots of stuffed animals.

That is definitely the most adorable story I've heard in a while.

$47 is a freaking steal where I'm from. One night for a big dog (70lb+) is $60 at my clinic, more if there are meds to be given.

Where I'm from it's about $70/night to med board at the clinic. I also used to work at (still pick up a shift now and then) a dog daycare/boarding facility. It was about $50 per night per dog. At the daycare/boarding facility I used to work at 3 years ago it was $50 per night per dog for a regular kennel and $75 per night per dog for a "luxury suite." So $47 for 2 dogs sounds like a pretty good deal to me too!

That is the saddest, most adorable story I've ever heard. I'm so glad he got the elephant back! I really really hope that donor adopts him so he and his elephant can have a happy ending.

Oh yes, you were with Wildcat!! And I found you in the group 😉

It has been an awesome day!

Got called into work, but I got overtime for it because I was called in! After work, took puppy out around the town and she did sooooo well. Then went to happy hour with a few friends and had a few beers. Ok, more like 6 beers in 2 hours. 😳 Had a good long talk with the roomie. Found the whole SDN on FB thing.

And now, back to the bar! 😀 And no work this weekend! :soexcited:

Ah, that's awesome!! She and her husband picked me from the airport and drove me to the Illinois interview and let me stay with them. Apparently we've both been trying to find each other on FB for a while and failing miserably at it.

Aww she's great! The day before my Mizzou interview we went to the mall and walked around while I asked her a million questions then she took me to the school for a private tour!! Then she came with me and my dad to the interview day to make sure we didn't get lost lol , she's a great person!!

Just found the facebook group. I kinda recognize some of y'all from as wolves in WW 😉

I definitely need to join this group! But I think I will wait until my posted stats are buried and forgotten. It's going to be ridiculously easy to figure out who I am once you all see my facebook!

Definitely read that is "God called in to work" and I just imagined God like, "So how much is it going to cost me to neuter Fluffy?"

Oh my goodness this is so cute. I love it when toys and things actually make it up to adoption with animals. I had a foster kitten who had a little "hungry hungry caterpillar" stuffed catterpillar and I'm so glad it made it to her forever home with her. She has since beat the tar out of it and her new mom had to stitch it up and make it the "angry angry caterpillar.

Just got home from a fetotomy (I got to do the head!!!!!! 😀 ) and uterine suturing wetlab!
So THIS is why I torture myself with vet school. 👍

Today is awesome! My housemate's parents took us for delicious creeps for lunch, I had a blast ice skating with my friends, bf's taking me out for a celebratory dinner, and I have fun plans for superhero cartoons and/or board games tonight! 😀

A few weeks ago my mom took me to Olive Garden for a celebration dinner and we had really crappy service. My mom wrote them and they sent us a $75 gift card which is more than we even spent on our meal.
