Starting my new job today at the ER/Referral clinic!! I'm super pumped, but kinda nervous. I've worked with my company for over two years so I don't really remember what it felt like to be the "new girl" . Hopefully I will fit right in 😀

Thanks Swings 😀 it went really well!! I am so excited, in one day I saw a ton of stuff that I've never seen before.. Our entire ward was full!! Very very busy day. But I loved every minute of it.

FINALLY got AVC to sort out my tuition deposit, which got sent to the school but not credited to my account. Took 3 emails and 2 phone calls before they finally updated my account, but now my seat is secure and I can breathe a huge sigh of relief.

And I'm almost done packing up my apartment! I'm really impressed with myself for getting it done so quickly. Usually I'm frantically packing things at 3am on the day of the move. 🙄

Since I'm in good shape packing-wise, this means I can spend tomorrow doing fun things with the bf and enjoying my last "real" day of living in the area. The weather is fabulous right now too, so maybe we can go to the beach tomorrow! 👍

our boarding/facilities manager's birthday was today and we had AMAZING barbecue for lunch. sooooo good. amazing cornbread with a hint of jalepeno. ate too much! yum yum.
 
First overnight shift at the ER clinic is tonight! I'm pretty excited, but nervous.. Gonna stop and get some sugar free red bull on my way lol
 
I love diving!! we did a 2 tank dive this morning at two of Grenada's shallow wrecks (Veronica L. and Three Piece Wreck). hoping i can do a night dive in a few weeks! 😍

How did it go??!!

My rave - I scheduled a horseback riding lesson and I'm super duper extra mega excited. I grew up riding but haven't been on a horse in a decade!!!! 😀

Night dives are Amazing!!! I got certified first thing when I started college, but living in the middle of the country kind of cuts down the number of ocean dives I can do 😛. I'm so jealous, but you should take advantage of your unique opportunity and dive as much as possible! And then post pictures so I can live vicariously through them 😎.

i think i'm gonna end up adding a bit to my loans when it comes to diving haha. i just can't justify not spending the money because this is literally once in a life time!

I am sitting in a chair with a blanket all snuggly watching the Following which will be folloed by me watching yesterdays episode of Game of Thrones. =D After that I'm going to go to bed.
 
Got my butt kicked today in Krav Maga. Gonna start a membership and get into shape and learn how to defend myself. =)
 
Had a blast from the past today. A boy I used to have a huge crush on in Junior High added me on FB out of the blue. I'm 24 now, so it's been like 10 years? Anyways, we've been catching up via PM and he admitted to having a crush on me way back then. Probably going to meet up for drinks this weekend.

I feel all giddy like a little girl! 😍

I've always wanted to do that! there's only one place in indy which is over an hour drive from both my house and Purdue 🙁
 
Been feeling much better lately since deciding not to go to vet school. It's been a huge change in mood and I sleep much better, too.

Listening to country all day today helped too. :laugh: 😍

And can't wait for Saturday because a certain someone is coming by for a bit. 😳

I'm starting Krav Maga soon too! I've never done it before but there was a great Groupon deal for a place only 20 mins from my house - 10 lessons for $40. I haven't signed up for the classes yet but I'm really excited about it!

thats an awesome deal! I have never been into any martial arts or anything like that but Krav seems really useful in everyday life. They re-create scenarios (like someone coming up behind you and putting their hand on your mouth/arm around your neck, several different choking angles and how to break them, how to get free when someone grabs you by the hair) and they actually DO the things you'll encounter. My coworker who has been doing it for over a year said that the instructor literally came up to her one day in class and started choking her! AH! I am not excited to be choked obviously but it is gonna be really fun.
 
So on the way back from finding out that my car does not in fact have the broken part mentioned in the safety recall (woot!), my SO and I saw a rummage sale laid out in front of a church, as a benefit for a group that raises seeing-eye dogs. We stopped just to see if there was anything interesting (and to say hi to the puppies). I went through the boxes of books and found a very nice condition Miller's Anatomy of the Dog 3rd ed. and a Miller's Guide to the Dissection of the Dog 4th ed. for... wait for it... ONE DOLLAR EACH.

Plus I got an anthology of some Poe short stories and a cool pin (old metal shaped to look like ancient Greek coins), and the SO found some fun things including yet another set of polyhedral dice. 😀

Today is a good day.
 
Thank God for my parents. They stayed with us the past two nights and they saved our sanity. My mom would rock Madeline to sleep after every feeding which allowed me to get some much needed sleep. She also made a bunch of freezer meals for us and dad would watch Madeline while I showered, studied, etc. They also sent us to dinner while they babysat. It was really nice to get out of the house.

Glad to here everything is going as well as it ever does. 🙂 And I agree, thank god for parents. My mom and my husband's parents were a huge help as well.

such an awesome night! we saw 7 turtles! it was so neat to watch them come ashore, dig their nests, then count the eggs! such amazing creatures! i'm so jealous of the researchers that get to spend 6 months doing this every night! 😍
 
both cats and the dog are currently sitting on my bed with me! so proud of the kitties since last August when they were either avoiding the dog completely or attacking her.

and the dog slept through the night all the way for the first time in a week (which means so did I)--yay for tramadol. (our thinking is discomfort from back pain keeping her from getting comfortable overnight).
