Who should I address a letter of interest/intent too?
Who should I address a letter of interest/intent too?
I put "to whom it may concern"
I put Dr. Ross, the Dean. I talked with him when I was there for an interview, so I figured it'd be a good one to send it to.
Did they reply to your letter?
They've got some nice outdoor bball courts. thatll rock til it gets cold out. the weight room wasn't amazing, but it has enough to get the job done.
im hoping my random roommate in the dorms is cool, but you never know..
no way, i cant study at home. besides, there is a social part of school which i cant do while im at home.
I cannot wait any longer!!!
If i don't get in anywhere, I think I may quit my job and become a full time troll on SDN.
rumor has it that the salary and the benefit package is not the best!

I love your screen name, bacteriophage. I could have chosen "Mast Cell" or our neighborhood friendly "Thrombin." However, my current is the name of the house I lived in senior year. It has since been demolished. So, in it's memory, I post in its honor with pride.
Quick Question : Are all of you on the waiting list?? When did you guys hear back after your interview? I havent heard back in a while so I was wondering?
Hey I have a random roommate too in the dorms (just got the letter today)
I hope she's cool... and not a slob.
if you get a terrible roommate and i dont, you can come hang out with us.
Wow. Ok. I'll tell you, respectfully, why I was having doubts about the school. On the day of my interview, everything was great...well, except for one of the student guides. He was wearing a shirt (holes and all) that went, "Does by Bass look big", some pants that were torn at the seems and looked like he literally fell out of bed. And here's the best answer he could give for why he chose CMS: "Aaahhh, weellll, it's the only school I got into, you knowww..I guess beggars can't be choosers, you know...I guess it's okay here." Now what kind of an answer is that? And for christ's sake, he could have atleast been wearing something decent. Even the House look would have been sharper than the way he looked that day. I'm not generalizing him to the entire student body. Not at all. Sorry for thinking that the student guides would be chosen based on how well they represent the school.
Sorry if I came across as rude. Just that this is a huge decision and when you hear as much conflicting opinions about a school and you have a student guide give you an answer like that, you just want to be extra sure.
Anyways, moniker, thanks for answering the Cook/Advocate question. And Jumpu, thanks for the reply. It makes sense about having more variety through rotations. Cheers!
Got a letter from Temple University. Wasn't surprised at the outcome, but what I was surprised at was the number of people that supposedly applied....near 10,000 for 180 spots. Same thing with Loyola. What the hell? Even UIC is telling me that it's gonna be a while because they just have sooooo many applications to go through. Why are there so many people applying? Damn tv shows like House, ER, etc. is what I blame it all on.
I got that letter today too.
Guys, I talked to my boss today and found out that they don't have the funding for me after May. So, I'll be completely unemployed after this month. It feels like life couldn't get any worse, which I'm sure it could, but at the moment it feels that way. Obviously I need to get a job soon, but I also need to focus on retaking the MCAT.
Come on Rosalind Franklin! I desperately need to hear back from you. I need some solidarity in my life - some closure. Please please make a decision soon!
Chill guys and stay optimisitc...know that if it does not happen this yr, you can do the Rosalind BMS program, and for you guys that have gotten interviews for CMS this year, your stats are def. good enough for medical school and your chances of getting in through the BMS program are very good as long as you don't bomb your classes...B's or better are what they are looking for. I was in the program and withdrew in march once I got into other medical schools. In my batch of interviewees for those in the BMS program, 5 of us were offered admission to CMS by December. So keep your head up, and know that this is a good way to go if you want to be at CMS. So far, a little above 30 BMS'ers have been accepted to CMS, and I am sure more will get in, around 55-60 total are in the program now. Good luck to you all![]()

Is UIC done interviewing? I haven't heard anything from them. Assuming it's a rejection?
so what time in May should we call in to check your status?
I tried calling earlier this week but, you guessed it, they dont pick up, it is just that damn message "for adcom push 4 blah blah blah"😡
