so i got myself together and called the office...

i was told that decisions were not yet made, and mails will go out in about two weeks...

i hung up confused...

i even checked to make sure i called the right school...

maybe i talked to a student working at the office who didnt have all the information straightened out...

could someone else also waiting for a decision call and verify this at a later time...?

When you call, make sure you call Victor, he gives you the real deal. I called last week and he told me to call on Friday the 16th. I will be either waiting for something via snail mail or calling on the 16th again...the wait continues...

I just called, they are interviewing into early april and adcom is meeting soon. Pretty much the same thing I was told a month ago.

This is probably nonsense...I interviewed early December, and called around the known adcom meeting date, and they said that decision would be made after the new year. The next day the acceptance letter came. Its a small envelope so don't be alarmed! Good Luck Guys!

I called today and the extension for the admissions office just sent me back the first menu. It seems like they are tired for anxious premeds for the day.

So did they have their meeting on Friday or not...I was planning to call them yesterday but was never able to get myself together and call.

i believe they had their meeting...
it was supposed to be held in late feb...
i dont think they would have postponed it again...

but i dont think theres much luck in getting a straight answer in regards to the decision made at the meeting by calling them...
im just gonna sit tight for a mail (hopefully)...
based on the early feb meeting and the time it took them to actually mail out the decisions, acceptance letters would prob arrive at our mailboxes either fri/sat of this week...

Yeah, I am pretty sure that they met. They can't release information over the phone, so I am thinking this Friday or Saturday also. Hopefully we will be among the fortunate acceptees.

:luck: Good Luck everyone, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you guys.

I hear they did. Hopefully we hear something by this weekend...

I have an April interview and am flying out that afternoon. do they finish up by 2pm?

any hotel recommendations?

Ramada Inn. They have a lot of interviewees stay there and run a shuttle to the school in the morning to get you there. Or did.

I hope, hope, hope that we get our letter tomorrow!

I hope so, too. I called today but kept getting told by the phone system that there was nobody at the extension. I'm sure they were busy with all of the Match Day festivities. Both of the M4-interviewers were talking to us about it (one did Optho early match, and the other was PMR and pretty much knew where she was headed) and they were really excited about it all.

Hope we get in!:luck:

How I feel I did is inversely proportional to the amount of time I've waited... 🙂

i got in!!!!!!! just found out in the mail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope everybody else waiting on the school gets in too. 🙂

I interviewed March 1st... not too long ago

WOOHOO!!! just got my acceptance letter today!!!
imma go out and celebrate now!!!

its postmarked 3/15 (yesterday), so dont lose hope if u dont get it today (im in state).

Grats guys!

Hopefully the rest of us will have better luck in the next round...

BTW, when I called today they gave me a wierd answer. They had to sign letters or something, so it looks like Post-Interview rejections are going out.

i heard they don't send out rejection letters until much later... as in the summer so don't give up hope yet. My letter was postmarked March 15.. which means people on the west coast might not get their letters until beginning of next week.

dont give up yet Dr. Van...

they will continue to review ur file until july...

and the turnover rate is extremely high at RFU...

many of those holding onto the acceptance will withdraw once they make up their minds by may 15...

I'm on spring break so I wont even be able to check my mail until Sunday. I've been waiting since Feb. 14. For you guys that got in, do you mind telling us your stats?

I hope so, but when I called today. It seemed like I got rejected from the tone, etc. I hope I am wrong 🙁

Are you guys pretty much set on RFU? I loved it there.

Dr. Van...

u might wanna write a letter of intent...

it cant hurt...

im really hoping for us to become classmates...

I actually dropped one off to Victor a few days ago. I am literally at RFU every week, so if I do get rejected from there it will hurt really bad.

Hey, how are you doing?

I talked to Victor today, and from it seems, there either hasn't been a decision on my application or I am rejected. It's one or the other. Hopefully, I understood wrong.

How's apartment hunting coming along? Are you guys willing to live in Evanston?

DrVN,

I'm pretty sure that you are not rejected. It seems that at many schools the "no decision" applications are not decided on until an April or May adcom meeting. I know this is the case at UIC and Tufts. They're probably just holding most of the "no decision" applications until April or May at RFU as well. I know the waiting sucks. I think you should send them an LOI.

Also, where do you live? I think tdd and iwannagomed live in chicago burbs. Chicago city mail probably takes a while to sort.

As for the house hunting, we found a condo in northern lakeview/border of uptown right by the lake. If all goes smoothly (and it has so far) we'll be closing in May 🙂

got the acceptance letter today!!

i interviewed on 2/5.

good luck to all 🙂

for those of you who were accepted; would you mind sharing your stats?
Thanks

I also would like to join the fan club for DrV.
Add that to your letter of intent. You have a fan club!

Congrats to all those who got accepted this week. There is a decent chance I will be seeing some of you there next year. And also keep your head up DVN. No news is still good news, I would bet you are sitting better than you think.

Congratulations all that have received acceptances this week. Unfortunately, I was not one of those. I will throw a few pennies in a well for those of us in the same boat. Best of luck everyone!

yeah seriously, you all will probably end up being my classmates too. so good luck!

make us proud as M1s everyone

I hope not :scared: I love RFU and they better love me back 😛 I dropped of a LOI last week, I really hope it puts me over the edge.

I am out in the southwest burbs and we have HORRIFIC mail service. Loyola had to send me a secondary twice and I recieved my neighbors Stanford Undergrad acceptance packet

Lakeview is a nice area, really depends on the exact location though. Are you off Sheridan near Rodgers Park or more near the Lincoln Park area?

Chicago is a great town (except in the winter) 🙂

Thanks bigdog! Good luck on your UIC interview🙂

I hope so, hopefully we will be classmates next year. A relieved dvn is a lot better than a stressed out one. Trust me, I'm no fun this way.

I live in MN and still haven't gotten anything in the mail...does that mean I wasn't accepted...and I just have to wait till the next meeting.

early april??? they should at least meet twice every month. but i can't always have everything i want! 🙁

So we all know about the meeting but has anyone heard back? I havent called since it seems like they dont like to give info over the phone but I am very tempted. Any recent interviewees hear back yet?

hey does anyone have their match list from this year?
Please provide a link if you found it
Thanks!

Dr. Van and others...

a good news for u guys...

an SDN member (from another thread) was informed that RFU has only accepted 220 thus far in the process...

that means u guys have a good shot at getting accepted later on even if waitlisted right now...

last year or the year before (i dont know which one they provide on US News), they accepted 485 for 185 spots...

good luck!!!
