Definitely go ahead and apply as long as you're planning on getting some good clinical experiences in the next 8 months. I would try to get at least one or two clinical experiences before you submit your primary app (all it really takes is finding a doctor or two who will let you shadow them for a day or half day) and then a couple more before submitting secondary apps/going on interviews. I didn't have a ton of clinical experience to put on my primary app but listed more on my secondary apps and then talked about more during interviews and was fine.
