Say you got an interview at your number 1 school...During your interview should you flat out say to your interviewers..." {Insert school of choice} is my number one choice school and if accepted I will come here, I will immediately drop all other acceptances"...would you be this blunt with your interviewer if youn really wanted to go to this school?...Just interested in what people think👍

If it is a true statement, I would unquestionably say it.

Medical schools are like people, they don't want to be rejected. Telling them you will attend if accepted helps your cause, to varying degrees at different schools. However, I encourage you to be honest.

They're irrational in the best of times and flat-out disappoint you in the worst of times 🙂

I don't think it would matter, really, to the interviewer or to your chances. Potentially a very awkward moment, too, if the interviewer asks you for details...and you can't come up with anything more than "cuz its teh awesome..."

Nor do I think putting this declaration of love in a letter of intent makes any difference.

Tell them. But you better have some reasons why. And you better know the school, the area, the state.
It worked for me. Because it was an honest fact.

If you're hoping to finagle a scholarship, I wouldn't do this. Having more than one acceptance gives you some leverage when it comes to negotiating finances. Otherwise, go for it, I guess...

I did it for my top choice (Baylor). I was being completely honest, and articulated why I wanted to attend there.

I did it for my top choice (Baylor),. I was being completely honest, and articulated why I wanted to attend there, AND NO USE WHATSOEVER.

so the verdict seems to be -- if you mean it and can back it up it sure couldnt hurt. I do agree that at top top schools it likely wouldnt make a big difference.

Dude, there are still acceptances going out. Calm down. You'll feel really silly if you do get accepted there after being so discouraged.

Always tell the truth. Not about whether its gonna get you in or not.

But if you like a school tell them.

Treat your schools as girls 😉

I think it'll work... but don't say "i'll drop my acceptances to all other schools" - that part's implied and by being explicit about it.. it makes you seem a little needy. Instead, you are better off articulating WHY you would definitely go there if you are accepted

Or you could just keep it short and sweet and end it that "I will definitely come here"
