Star WWars III Game Thread

Thanks for the quick break down, I'm assuming for rebels we can loom for the main characters in the movies like Luke, Han Solo, Chewy, ect?

That would be my general feeling.

Oi @Jilary if you're gonna be Emperor I want to see you go full Star Wars nerd and change your avatar to the original Emperor from 1980. :D

I think boba Fett would make for a better neutral. black sun, hutts, or another criminal element might work better for a chaos player.

Do you have the Despecialised editions of 'A New Hope' 'The Empire Strikes Back' and "Return Of The Jedi'? (if not, you NEED to get them!!!).

Apart from my (albeit small, but very lovingly collected) Kenner figures above, I also had one of the original toy lightsabers, still in working condition -- until my Mum decided to lend it to one of my second cousins, without bothering to ask me, and he completely wrecked it. :arghh:

Do you have the Hungry Jack's (Burger King) Collector Edition glasses as well? Those were awesome! :D
I don't have the despecialised versions, but I do have the originals on VHS and the digitally remastered ones on DVD. The only original toy I have is a storm trooper (they are my favorite). When Episode 1 came out, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and KFC were offering collectors cups with characters as lids. I went to all three places every time they released a new one so I could collect them all. I literally have boxes of SW toys that were never opened. I really like toys though too.

But I want something cute!

The force is strong with me today. On FB a friend of mine liked a comment of mine on her post from several months ago asking if anyone had episode 2 on DVD. I replied I had them all, and when I got the notification that she liked my post I had a moment of confusion thinking I posted that on FB instead of here, then realized the post was from a while ago. Then during an ortho lab today, a surgeon walked in wearing a storm trooper helmet. He ducked away before I could get a picture though.

Oh wow, you have original Kenner SW toys still in their boxes? That is sooo cool :D

Star Wars and Fantasia are the first two movies I remember seeing at the cinema. Star Wars was released in Australia in around November of 1977, and it took me a couple of months to convince Mum to take me and my cousin to see it. I remember seeing it before my 6th birthday, and I just absolutely fell in love with it. We didn't have a lot of money, so being able to buy any of the figurines was always really special as well. Fond memories, very fond memories.

These are the Burger King glasses I was talking about. Provided my Mum hasn't given them away, or they've ended up being broken in a move or something, I should still have the Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi full sets. :)

"You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll kiss 3 bucks goodbye!"

Haha, yep. :D Seeing this as a kid was just hilarious. After seeing Star Wars for the first time my Auntie shouted myself, my Mum, and my Cousin tickets a few more times to go back and see it again because we all enjoyed it so much, and they played this as one of the pre-screening presentations that they used to have back then. We were all in stitches because it was so damn random and just bad in a good way that we couldn't stop laughing. I've always remembered this parody, I was so stoked to find it on YouTube. :woot:

Elect jil because them tattoos.

And I echo what others have said so far; I think the wolves in this game will be characters from the OT. At the time of the Empire's control, Padme, Ahsoka (fight me, I don't think she survived her fight with Vader, I love her but sorry no), and Bail are dead/dead pretty soon. Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, R2, C3PO, Wedge, Biggs, etc. are people I would watch out for.

Edited because autocorrect hates me

Oh no, I unfortunately don't have original Kenner toys in the boxes, that would be amazing. All of my toys are from the re-releases. I worked at toys r us at the time, so I was able to get all kinds of stuff.

I remember those glasses! I know we had them all but they either broke or my mom tossed them.

Mine are all loose, but despite having been played with as a child they're all in reasonable condition, and I do still have the original guns and weapons that came with them as well. :)

Okay, I'm hesitant to randomly pick someone when I know so little...what exactly do we think the role will be of whoever we elect?

From what I've seen of looking at a couple previous games, mayor usually gets a PM ability. But I'm sure there's other abilities it could be.

I'm so glad you've read other games lol. Very helpful.

I definitely think we should be careful before jumping on a bandwagon and voting from someone...

I agree, I'm just not sure how you would strategize that, you know? It's so early in the game to have feels about anyone yet. I mean, the Farm noob game, they decided mayor by Team Bacon vs Team Candy. Did you have any suggestions as to how to decide mayor? I'm all ear.

Not really... I just saw everyone was going from Jillary and it made me a little nervous lol

Well if there's an affiliation seer, they should check out the "mayor" first, and this can get played in a lot of different ways - either people take it as a strong villager tell or it's so taken for granted sometimes that the seer doesn't check out the mayor and a wolf can play off of the assumption that only a villager would run for mayor through late game. Or an "alpha wolf" who is unseerable as a wolf could run for mayor under the same assumption. But we very rarely have any information BEFORE the mayor is elected considering it's day 1.

Choose whoever has the highest count of midichlorians in their system?

Which, based on knowledge of the star wars universe, sounds like it might be Jilary, so...

Definitely not arguing with you, but I'd be a little concerned having the affiliation seer getting wolf killed because of them revealing what they found

Nobody said they have to reveal it...unless they found out the mayor is a wolf, then they should find some means of revealing it before it's too late.

I think they can also sometimes be able to break lynch ties

I think mayor being tie breaker is the most common ability I've seen.

Mild case of word vomit coming, since I just spend the last 30 minutes doing some more reading.

Before I do that: @cdoconn just to add onto what Ny said: Often affiliation seer will seer someone within their PM group, and then open a PM once they have confirmed that they are villager. That way important things can be shared, without worrying about revealing your ability to a wolf and getting night killed.

And for any newer players who might have seering abilities, be sure to seer your PM buddy before feeding them all your results. :)

Ohhhhh! That makes sense. Granted, the seer would have to worry about conversions, but what's WW if you're not worrying about something?

I'm surprised @cdoconn isn't hardcore campaigning...this seems right up your alley
Ny is right, that the mayor is ideally someone relatively experienced. Roles are normally randomly assigned, so bad luck can give useful abilities to people who aren't sure how best to take advantage of them. The mayor usually has a useful ability, so it's good for us to pick a mayor who will be able to take advantage of it. That mostly means decent player and some basic familiarity with the topic.

Sometimes there are specific roles that get a perk for being mayor, but it's been a long time since I remember reading about one of those.

Star Wars question: If this is the "original trilogy", why are the movies titled Episode 4, Episode 5, Episode 6?
Because prequel-sequels were filmed many years later, leading the whole mess to be renumbered. I think.

Ep 4 was made first and was originally titled just "Star Wars" but then was later renamed to Star Wars: A New Hope. Ep 1,2,3 were filmed many moons later and are the prequels to the original star wars trilogy.

I guess I'll just go with it (since there isn't anything to actually go on) and vote...

In addition to what everyone else has said, if you want to know the movie order in terms of the Star Wars universe timeline it goes:
I-II-III-Rogue One-IV-V-VI-VII

But in terms of actual release date order it's:
IV-V-VI-I-II-III-VII-Rogue One

It's definitely a little confusing if you're not familiar with it.

Based on the initial write up I would guess we're somewhere near the end of Rogue One/beginning of IV.

I highly recommend seers keep their roles tightly guarded. If you find a rebel/wolf, go back and analyze that person's play and see if there is anything you can catch them on before revealing to anyone. Unseerable wolves and conversions are a real concern.

I agree and would recommend checking her out soon, though I fully expect to be seered and tracked by every means possible tonight!

Sounds like great cover for an unseerable wolf.

There are always ways to detect unseerable wolves. I'm totally vanilla, which is why I asked to be emperor, plus my lifelong love of SW.
Sure, there's gameplay. And tracking. But if you want to know when you're getting tracked as an unseerable wolf, running for mayor sounds like a good plan. Just have someone else do the kill tonight, and you can skate through to endgame.
