Welcome to the Spirit's Eve Festival!
Historically, the Spirit's Eve Festival fell during the night, but because that was leaving the kids out, this year, the organizers made the festival occur over the course of the day. Grumbles were heard from the adults who liked to use the festival as an excuse to imbibe on pumpkin spice beer, Fireball, or cinnamon-spiced vanilla milk, but when you've got unhappy parents breathing down your neck, what are you gonna do.
The wizard stepped up and cleared his throat. In previous years, he'd conjured up a challenging maze, but that felt too boring to him - plus it required so much supervision, and sometimes people needed a lot of assistance ... they'd never found that one person who went missing, and the legal team really didn't like that ... so this year, he'd come up with something else.
"My fellow townspeople," he proclaimed, and it wasn't weird at all even though he didn't actually live in the town and rarely interacted with the people to begin with. "This year, I have created a challenge to see how well you know the people you see every day here in our beloved little island town. You might wave at familiar faces or have a nice word for them - but do you actually know their names? It's time to find out! The fastest will win a prize!"
He paused to shoot a dirty look at one of the kids who was whistling the tune of "
spooky, scary skeletons send shivers down your spine." His cold gaze made the child clam up immediately. "None of that here," he admonished.
"You will have the end of the day to be the fastest! The winner will be announced after voting closes. I wish you the best of luck!"
The festival will work as follows:
Your puzzle is located
HERE. In it, you will race to identify the most villagers possible as fast as you can. This is open-book (the Stardew Wiki is a great resource, for those unfamiliar with the game lore) and you may attempt it as many times as you want. When you finish,
please post a screenshot that shows your completion score and time in your role PM. Posting a screenshot does not lock you into that particular result - if you want to do it once and be done, that's cool - if you want to be a psycho like me and keep doing it for the entire day to try and improve your time, go for it - just make sure you send us screenshots for judging. The final screenshot that you have submitted by vote close will be the one used for evaluating who wins.
We will give prizes to the top 2 finishers and will announce those with lots of pomp and circumstance. Festival participation is not required, but you will win some good stuff that will help you in the game!!
Best of luck and enjoy!
