Sullivan University Anyone?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Mine is at 3. The spots filled up way too fast! i was really surprised. You got good stats and pharm experience Good luck! I am actually from california and just finished up my undergrad. My GPA is about a 3.3 and I worked in a pharmacy for 3 yrs.

Thanks for the response. I hope I get in. My undergrad GPA was a 3.39, and with my graduate school GPA (one semester) and these 4 classes it is up to about a 3.5. Are you staying the night or are you hopping a plane after your iterview is over to go back to California? I am from Louisville, KY so if you need any kind of pointers as to where to stay, what to do, etc...let me know.

Okay what is up with California and Sullivan? There are at least 4 or 5 people from there in our class this year. It's probably the most represented state that isn't KY or an adjacent state.

People just go where they can get in at. And since Sullivan is private, the tuition is the same across the board, regardless if you are from Kentucky or outside the state.

hey guys, remember to post up interview feedbacks at the feedback section. thanks

I sent in my application early. I am having my interview on 9/11. Anyone knows the exact location & what to prepare / suggestion ?

When I spoke with Dr. Facione he said, the PCAT is optional, you can take it if you would like and it is encouraged, especially if you are applying to other schools. He also said if you do well on it, it can help you however if you don't score well on it, it won't hurt you. I'm nervous about the score I got on it, I took it for the first time last week, and I don't really feel like I did too well but idrk.
Hi there, I have high GPA 3.9 and just wonder whether I should take a PCAT or not. It seems like I have not prepared for the exam yet. Please help out with this. Thanks

I took it then too! I thought it was really difficult. Dr Facione did say it can only help you, but I think that if their like on the fence about whether or not to admit you, and you get a bad score they might use that as their final descion maker.
Should I bother to take PCAT as I got high GPA 3.90
Please help out

A GPA 3.90 does not mean anything..........when you are facing with other students with higher status.........tyou should ake your PCAT to prove how good you are......many schools will prefer high PCAT scores, a B.S degree, and pharmacy experience. High GPA will not be enough to compete with other people.

Hi guys, I would like to get help for the Curricular Vitae(CV). Please help me out if you have outline for this format. Thanks

When I did mine I just did an internet search via google for CV format.

Does anyone know how many interviews will be given out this year? or how many were given out last year? I have an interview in nov. just a little anxious.

pharm2love, I guess no one could really give you a good answer since it seems 9/11 is the first interview date for the Class of 2013 unless there's pharmacy students at SUCOP willing to share their experiences.

Nonetheless, good luck to you tomorrow and don't forget to post your feedbacks. hope everyone here gets in! 👍

When did you get the notice for the interview date from Sullivan? I was given to choose (got an email late August) the interview date in Sep. but called like a day after the invitation (stupid me), and I'm now placed on October 30th. =( I'm still shocked. because someone here mentioned (after figuring out the time) he called like 30 min before me. and He got placed on Oct 2nd and me on 30th. =(
(refer to my posts above about the timeframe.) Since the spots are filled up way too quickly, I feel like they do the interview to ALL applicants...though I hope not.

When Paige asked about the preferred time, it seemed like it went byan hour interval, like 1:00 2:00 3:00,etc..so I assume it wouldnt' last any longer than an hour. thus, fairy a short interview compared to other schools including campus tour, group work, etc (3-4 hrs).

From the previous posts (yes, I have a lot of time to spend here....NOT,jp), it seems like many people were placed in an alternative list and were pulled out of the list in the last minute..some got a call 2 weeks( or something like that if I remember it correctly) prior to the Fall semester to the extent.

i got an email a few days ago and my interview is sceduled for nov 20.

i feel the same thing that they do interview all applicants whoever meet the minimum requirements.
Mine is Nov 20 at 1:30

My speculation: From what I know, the intervals are 30 minutes. So that's an interview per 30 minutes. So that would be 16 interviews from 8-4 each Friday, that's 4 Fridays per month. It seems like they interview from September-November. So that comes out to about 200 interviews. Anyone have the stats from last year?

Does anyone here know how many students Sullivan accepts every year?
75? 100?

Hey guys,
Don't freak out about the interview. Yes, it will be about 30 minutes and there will be approx. two interviewers (sometime 1 only). It will be an open file interview. Know the basic questions (e.g. why pharmacy, why SUCOP, etc.). BTW, not everyone will be invited for interview........Class of 2011 (75 students), class of 2012 (87), and class of 2013..approx 95-100 students. I am class of 2012!

Pharmerkim88: congratulation
atlboi: do you know how many people they plan to interview?

Last year they received about 350 applications, and I think they interviewed about 150 applications and accepted 87. I'm not sure about this year. Sorry!

Just got my interview today, I was quite nervous at first but it got better. Just basic questions like ALTBoi posted; I think I got asked 3 times. But who knows other interviewers may ask you more, so be prepared as well. I am pretty shy & more like interview phobia, and I think I managed to pull up the simple and honest answers okay, so you people shouldn't have any problem at all as long as you provide an honest answer. I have faith in the school. Friendly staffs and dean. Go for it guys & good luck to all.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us! Did they let you know when you should hear from them again?

He told me that the school will send out the mail in 2 - 3 weeks. Can't wait !!!

anyone in here got accepted without a degree?

It is possible to get accepted without a degree. I was, but I am in the minority for this stat. I can't remember exactly, but somewhere between 80-85% of our class ('12) does have a degree.

Hey guys i interviewed at 3 different school during the last cycle, and they were all pretty much the same. Know the basic questions like previously posted but also know what i feel is one of the hardest questions ever. Tell me about yourself? All of the schools just want you to be yourself so they can get to know you.. i know this is difficult. Also when you are interviewing try to throw something in there that shows you are unique from everyone else. thats what they are looking for.. They dont want you to be like every other interviewee... i hope this helps you guys... If you want any other advise dont hesitate to message me!

Hi guys!

I got an interview for 12/11/09. What should I expect and how should I prepare myself? It is my first interview ever. 😳

So, I'm really freaking out. My doctor's office didn't fax my immunization records last week...so I called them yesterday, left a message with the nurse, and they are doing it tomorrow. Great. Now all the interview slots will be full and I'm not even going to have a chance. Oh man, I'm so freaking nervous!!!

i did not have my immunization record complete. I still missing some shots. So i would email Paige to see how she look that this problem if you already submitted your app.

You should update your immunization record asap before they process your application. My app. was also missing the immunization record, so I came to the university and got a copy of the immunization record. Then then I came to CVS minute clicnic to get 2 more shots, and send both records to Sullivan.

Oh, it's complete. I had to do it before I could even attend Purdue my freshman year, so I'm not worried about that. Just the fact that my doctor's office was stupid. lol

I just finished up my pre-reqs, 4 classes (public speaking, statistics, A&P, Microbiology) and 4 A's. My interview is on 10/2, that date can't get here fast enough.

Yes. I am in guys. Just got the email of acceptance to class of 2013; a formal letter will be sent out once I complete & update a class this semester. Good luck to all & hope to see you guys.

Pharm2love,

Congrats! You are a great example of how it pays off to get your application in early. I sent mine in two weeks ago but until my second reference is completed I know I won't hear anything. Mind sharing your stats?

Thanks. I am just lucky. I am one of the lucky ones. Get the interview on 9/11 (Friday) and then email of acceptance today 9/14 (virtually over the weekend; definitely not because of GPA & PCAT).

My stats:
BS in Biochem w/ a minor in IT
GPA: 3.0 (w/ grade-forgiveness that Sullivan offers)
PCAT: 65% with 9% & 25% on English portions, I did decent on science & math
CVS Tech for 1 year

At least one strong recommendation letters; the pharmacist poured her heart out for the rec. letter. lol. I think I have an okay personal essay, maybe strong if looking into character development and growth - took me 7 years to complete the 4year program.
I am a big fan of community services; along w/ friends, found two organizations - one has non-profit status, the other is relatively new. I am lucky to have the interview w/ Dr. Facione; if you read his profile, you'd guess that he probably loves the idea of doing things for the community and the needed people.

Congratulations pharm2love!!! That is super exciting your probably one of the first to be accepted for 2013!!

Hi, I am having my interview on 11/05. Can you share your experience? Was it one on one. Did you have to write any essays?

Do not be too concerned about immunizations. I know of several people from our class that turned in our records during orientation.

did you guys sent in your immunization card along with your application???

congrats first of all! I wish I called early when they first gave me interview dates in September so I don't have to be panic! This waiting time is really killing me. By the way, what is grade forgiveness that Sullivan offers? I've never heard of it. Can anyone explain how it works? (I know what's that about, but how does Sullivan use it? )

"Grade Forgiveness offers a student the opportunity to retake a course and earn a second grade that will be substituted for the previous grade." Schools w/o grade-forgiveness will average the two grades.

Wow congrats! What is the class you still have to complete? My interview is on 09/25.
