There is not a specific laptop/tablet requirement 🙂 We take 99% of our exams on a software program called ExamSoft. The program is compatible with Windows, Macs and iPads.

Hey! I can't really tell you which one to use, but I can tell you which one NOT to use. OneNote has become the bane of my existence this year. I completely filled up all the available storage before the end of the first semester, so I've been paying the monthly fee for more storage. Which is fine but, it is INCREDIBLY finicky. The more I add to it the slower it goes and the higher the likelihood that it will get overwhelmed and just close out. Something that I wasn't aware of until I tried to do it, you can't really send anyone your notes to anyone if they missed class or something. You also can't download your notes or reasonably try to print them if you wanted to. I will not be using OneNote after this year is over (in 2 weeks!). OneNote also takes up a huge amount of storage space (which I have also run out of several times just this first year).

A few classmates have recommended Drawboard PDF. I've looked at it a bit and it seems to have the same capabilities as OneNote, and more. I had never heard of Whiteboard, so I'm not sure how those 2 compare, but I believe I will be buying the Drawboard PDF app to use for the rest of vet school. If there was an app similar to Notability for Apple users, that would be hands down the best option.

Interesting. I haven't had this problem and I dont know of anyone else who has. I do know there were some issues after the last update but they didnt effect me and from my understanding has been fixed. Xodo is good for an alternative though

We got ours distributed August 11th I believe last year. They usually put on the financial aid website the distribution dates for professional school sometime in the mid summer (?). But I remember getting it around August 11th.
