3. If you want to be a specialist, can you apply to other schools? How good grades should you get? like being in top 10%?

10. Which grocery store do most students go other than Costco?
Sorry for asking so much..
Sorry it took me a little time to get back to you, we have classes again and PBL is picking up again with neurology.
1. Sadly I can't give you any advice on loans :/ I have the HPSP scholarship, so I don't take out any loans, but I can try to answer the rest of your questions to the best of my ability!
2. I haven't had an essay or writing assignment so far for any of my courses. Obviously when D3 year comes you have to keep notes on your patients and what was done during the appointments. Other than that, we do have a short paper coming up in our inter-professional course, which is mostly about learning to work with physicians and pharmacists, so its nothing too difficult. The "thesis" is your grand rounds presentation. This is pretty much where you chose a patient that you have treated over your D3 year and present it to the class and faculty. I don't know too much about that either sadly because I'm only a D1.
3. My class is pass/fail. So we don't get grades for specializing. But yes, generally being in the top 10% is recommended, but also making sure that you make bonds with the faculty members who can write you good recommendations. Also, being involved in clubs and volunteer work will help you to gain a position in a specialty program once you graduate from LECOM.
4. My class (current D1) is forrest green, the D2 class is blue, the D3 class is an aqua/greenish color, and the D4 are maroon. Most students have 3+ pairs of scrubs. Personally, I have 3 pairs and it works just fine for me.
5. We used the Gray's Anatomy 3rd edition. Since LECOM is relatively new though, things change a lot and this could definitely be something they change, although the book seemed to work well for our class. We have all of our books online through Vital Source.
6. I think somewhere out there there is a LECOM online shop for merchandise. However, once you start at LECOM different clubs will have fundraisers where they sell sweatshirts, T-shirts, lanyards, etc. Sometimes even clubs hand out T-shirts if you volunteer and participate in events. There isn't a shop on the campus, no, but sometimes the cafe will sell small things like lanyards.
7. I live about 2 minutes from school, depending on the day I'm usually home before 5pm everyday.
8. Yeah, most people own a car as this isn't really a big city where everything is accessible through walking. Some people do bike to school just for exercise/fun, but I commute with my friends and we take turns driving our cars.
9. I packed everything into my car and drove from PA. (17 hours) My parents drove behind me with the rest of my stuff and once I arrived here I bought any big furniture that I needed while I was here so that I didn't have to haul it from PA. But U-Hauls are also great options. Plane would be my last option.
10. I shop at a regular Walmart or Publix. There's also a new grocery store called Earth Fare right down the road from the school which is like a Whole Foods or organic store.
Hope this helps!!
