I don’t mean to steal this question away, but the culture of the school is one of the things that sold me on CU. Super easy going. Super collaborative between students with everyone helping each other out, even across classes. Only a few gunners per class and even they aren’t the cut-throat/willing to sabotage type. They just don’t mess around when it comes to school or studying.
Best part of the program is for sure the ACTS rotations. It prepares you more for actual practice than anything else. Seriously. I wouldn’t have gone right into practicing if it wasnt for that.
I’ll leave the rest of the question for the person you asked it to.

Do you remember how many weeks in total you did during the ACTS program?

It works out to be approximately half of the school year since it is 2 weeks on ACTS for every 2 weeks in clinic. Only exception is for 3 weeks that they bring everyone back for a “didactic week” and the couple weeks of vacation there is. My class got less ACTS than usual since they were experimenting with a different schedule so I don’t know if my experience would be a good indicator since everyone would be getting more than that anyway. I think I got 12 weeks. Some people in my class got 16-18 weeks?

Thank you! I appreciate any responses from anyone who has gone to the school or interviewed there. I am SO happy to hear its a generally collaborative/teamwork environment.

Thanks! Another set of questions for you, if you're willing to answer.

How would you describe the culture at CU? Is it collaborative/helping each other type of environment or more competitive/fend for yourself? What are your favorite aspects of the school/faculty/program? What other schools are similar to CU?
Cooliyak answered it.
I would say it definitely a helping each other environment, the answer is there if you ask.

My AASDSAS portal says I have been invited for an interview, yet I haven't received an email from them saying I have interview. Should I just wait a while till they send it or could this be a case of the interview email being lost?

Are you in state or OOS?

I am in the same situation. I think the portal on AADSAS was updated within the last few hours for Colorado saying im invited for an interview, but I have not recieved an email yet either.
I’ll probably contact them tomorrow if I don’t hear from them by the end of the day.

I am also in the same situation. Did either of you end up receiving an interview email or a call?

I just got an interview invite email from them about 20 minutes ago. They must have just updated AADSAS early and waited a little bit to send out the email.

I just got the email too! Congrats! Yeah it looks like they updated AADSAS early.

Does it say it's a "Mock Interview Day" (that's the one I just got about a half hour ago) or does your's state it's an actual interview invite?
It’s my actual interview invite; it states that it’s a personal interview at their campus. I did receive the email for the online “Interview Prep Session” earlier in the week, if that’s what you’re referring to.

No...this one was different than the one earlier this week. But congrats on your actual interview invite! You probably didn't get the one regarding the "Mock Interview Day" on the 15th of September since you're already interviewing! Thanks and good luck 🙂

The mock interview day is a Colorado ASDA event! Two dental students at the school will give you a mock interview and there will be a presentation by Crystal Ridgley

Just finished the interview today, and it was a fantastic experience! Split our large group into five smaller groups for a staggered schedule to fit everybody in. Very conversational and relaxed for me, but I did hear some interviewees got a lot of situational questions from one particular faculty member.

It was great to meet a lot of you today, and good luck to everyone still waiting!

I was there too! It was awesome!

Hey guys. Please pardon my ignorance, but should I have received an email from Colorado verifying that they received my application and asking me to submit a supplemental application fee? I submitted my application to them via ADEA AADSAS on August 25, but have yet to hear anything at all from them. Could this be because I don't have all of my transcripts in yet? Thanks in advance!

If I were you, I'd be proactive and go ahead and just pay the fee without waiting for them to email you. They will eventually email you asking for the fee but that will also make the process longer.

Okay I will do that then! Thank you for the advice. If it’s not too much trouble, could you post a link to where I can submit that payment? I did some looking around on their website but couldn’t seem to find a place to pay.

Hi! You can find the secondary link in the actual AADSAS website when you submitted your application. It should be in the tab with CU’s application! Hope this helps and good luck!

After I submitted my AADSAS application, I received an email that stated they'd received my application and this:

"We will be in contact with you by e-mail to inform you of the next step in our application process. Supplemental application materials will only be needed upon request."

I haven't heard from them again and haven't submitted another fee.

Did you get a difference email? Do you think I should have sent a supplemental fee?

Nope. I didn’t get an email at all. That’s why I’m so concerned that there is something wrong with my application.

I did pay the $65.00 fee too.....have you sent that yet? If not, maybe they're waiting on that! If you have paid it, maybe call them to check on your status?

I just now paid the $65 fee. Hopefully I hear from them soon! It would be awesome to get an interview there! Anytime I can get an excuse to go to Denver, I’ll be there! Haha

They did not record the session. At my interview, they said they would be doing more sessions for next admissions cycle which implied that those who did not get to attend this year are out of luck.

Hello Everyone!

I went to the ASDA mock interview on the 15th and I learned some news from the manager of admission. Just thought you all might be interested in.

Decision Date might be on December 3rd rather than December 1st because it is on a weekend so they will push to the following Monday.

There will be no December interviews at all. However there will be January and February interviews (so don’t lose hope!).

This year has the most amount of applicants at 2600+ with roughly 450 interviews being given out.

Good luck everyone!

To clarify, they are no longer offering interviews until after January?

Interviewing at Colorado tomorrow, any input/impressions/advice? Thanks!

Does anyone know if the people interviewing have a file of your application in front of them?

It is a closed file interview. The interviewer has your personal statement printed out and on their computer they have your demographics information and a picture of you.

What's the purpose of them asking about where else you've interviewed in the exit survey?

Are you or the D4s still getting around 12 weeks?

@cooliyak When you were on your rotations, did you mainly do fillings? Or what kinds of procedures did you do?

We did everything. Exams, fillings, extractions, endo, etc. It depends a lot on the specific clinics you go to and the preceptors, too. Some rotations you saw a lot of kids, others a lot of endo, others a lot of extractions. Some never got to do prosth, others did. Some gave you free reign over everything that comes in. Others made you still do start check, prep check, final check. I never had a bad rotation though.

Did anyone by chance record the interview prep session?

Anyone interviewing at University of Colorado this Saturday the 20th want to split a hotel for Friday night? I will be renting a car, so I can give rides and split gas also. Feel free to DM me if interested! Good luck this weekend!
