super random, unimportant question but does anyone know the dress code for D1's? I know they said we can choose to wear scrubs or business attire but does each class get like a different scrub color or do they just wear anything

For the deposit, does anybody know if the April 15 deadline is a receive or postmark deadline?

Hey everyone, Just wondering what you guys think I should do at this point? I'm waitlisted at Mercy with a 19AA (BIO 19/GC 18/OC 20/PA 18/QR 17/RC 21) and 3.5 GPA. I don't see myself leaving the state and really want to attend Mercy only. Do you think I still have a chance to get accepted or maybe I should start DAT studying the second time around?

Any advice is appreciated, thank you for your time and good luck everyone!

Did you only apply to mercy? Tbh your stats are perfectly average only applying to one or two schools would be pretty risky. Then again UDMs waitlist moves pretty well so you definitely still have a chance.

I applied to two other schools but I'm just trying to remain hopeful. I dont mind taking another year reapplying, it would just be a dream to get in this year. Thanks for the advice btw

Well, I remember at my interview that Dr. Jeffers said how every year, he has had to call somebody the first day classes to ask if they could be there within an hour or two, because somebody just didn't show up to orientation. He specifically said that it would have to be somebody local. During the last few weeks or months before classes start, I assume that local people would more likely be called off the wait list, because those who live a distance away may decide that it is too much of a hassle to have to relocate last minute. You can reapply for next cycle, and AADSAS will refund your money if you end up getting an acceptance offer between June 1 and when classes for fall 2019 start. They said about 80% or so of the people on the wait list come off, due to some combination of people getting an acceptance call from UDM, or people removing themselves after getting accepted elsewhere.

I was studying to retake the DAT and I also think it’s a good idea to start studying so you don’t miss the opportunity to apply early. If you end up getting a call while you are studying then you can do what I did and just stop everything. If not then you were able to apply on time

Thank you so much for this, I'm gonna hang in there and study for now

I'm in the same boat, I'm thinking of sending a letter of intent :/ y'all think it'll hurt my chances ?

I sent a grade update in January, nothing more. Then early this month, I just got an offer one day. While they are my only option now so I paid the deposit, I will likely be giving up my seat if I get an acceptance elsewhere. I think a letter of intent may help, but send only one (only one to the school you really want to attend, and only to one school) and just let it be from that point forward. Don't bother them too much, or else they said they can move your ranking on the wait list downward.

I sent a letter of intent! It does not hurt to show interest! I interviewed Dec 1 and got accepted Feb 15. Remain hopeful! Also my friend who interview with me Dec first just got the call from Dr. Chang this week!

I’m in town from the west coast for the weekend! Any recommendations on bars/nightlife? I’m going to the Tigers & Pistons game so something close would be ideal. Thanks in advance

I was accepted a while back but honestly? I ain’t got time for UDM anymore. Will be declining soon.

Same. It's gonna be hard after having paid a $3500 deposit, but ultimately four years is a big time investment, you ought to be sure you will be happy where you are going.

That’s the thing. I interviewed at another school similar in price and liked the vibe, faculty, city, etc. MUCH more than UDM. The only thing good about UDM compared to that school was the proximity to my home and native land!
