Just got a call from Dr. Ancajas officially congratulating me on my acceptance. She said exactly what jackierific did about the package coming in the mail. She said that she tries to call in-state acceptances, but I don't know about OOS.
 
So blessed! I got into all three schools that I interviewed at (out of 7 I applied to!) now I have to decide where to go 🙂
Acceptance #1:
School: UNLV
Notification date: 12/1/15
Method of notification: email from Kingsley
Residency: Idaho
GPA (science, overall): 3.6, 3.6
DAT (AA/TS/PAT/Reading/any section below a 17): 21/21/19/24/none
 
Is it just me, or does Dr.Kingsley remind anyone else of Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory ?
 
Accepted via aadsas and a phone call from Dr. Ancajas. In-state
 
Offer made on my portal but I didn't received an acceptance call today from Dr.Ancajas. Anybody?I'm also OOS
 
anyone have any recommendations for nearby hotels? any walkable distances?
 
I have been denied 🙁 I'll just have to reapply for next cycle. This stinks !! But congrats to everyone that got in!!
 
If someone wants to PM me their name, I can start a FB group for us. I don't think you can create a group without adding at least one person.
 
Anybody received an acceptance call from Dr. Ancajas today or are we supposed to wait until the package gets delivered?

I called yesterday morning (heard nightmare stories of accidental acceptances at OU last year lol) and they told me they were mailing out packets to everyone that would be sent on the 1st. Everyone should get it within the week at the latest. They typically only call in-state acceptances. Just have to wait for the packet!
 
For peope with the offer made on portal, you can call the office and make sure that you're in. I just did and feel officially done with this.
 
For those whose portal still says "invited for interview": I just called and spoke with someone in admissions who said that although you aren't chosen for the first round of acceptances, you are not rejected. The committee is getting together on January 12th to choose the second round of acceptances.
 
So I'm interviewing in Feb, which is the last month they will be interviewing... Do any current UNLV dental students that interviewed in the past years know how full the class for out-of-states is at that point? I feel like I'm just interviewing to be on the waitlist spot. And also, is it possible to reschedule my interview date to January? I can reschedule for February dates but it looks as if any earlier months are locked even if spots open up.

Definitely call and ask to reschedule.
 
Does anyone know if UNLV offers scholarships to OOSers often if at all? Thanks guys 🙂

I decided some things based on the scenarios in my head of schools giving or not giving me scholarships. So I'll let you know in a week lol 🙂 how about you??

I called them and Dr. Ancajas said that the committee is meeting this week sometime and if you wanna find out, just call. I called on Friday so I don't exactly know what this week means lol but I think I'm gonna call on Thursday or something! Hope this helps!

I don't want to keep bothering them which is why I haven't in about a week now. They said Dr. Ancajas would call me back but she never did. Dunno what's up but it would be nice to know so we can make decisions lol. Anyone else call?
