When I submitted the secondary I had not received a Pell Grant. I received it for the fall semester. Should I contact UPenn and let them know

Hi! Third year student here :hello:
They send out interview invites on a rolling basis. So, if you submitted the first week of June and didn’t get an interview invite for September dates, that doesn’t mean Penn is done with you! They revisit applications they haven’t made an outright rejection decision on. People that have submitted in June have received interview invites in January...just like others who submitted in November received interview invites in December for instance. So don’t get paranoid if you haven’t heard from them yet! Until they reject you, you’ve still got a legitimate chance. Also don’t get paranoid with the stats others have had. A 4.0/30 DAT isn’t guaranteed in...Penn isn’t afraid to reject that if they aren’t impressed with the character outside of a resume built solely on academic accolades. Best of luck to y’all!
 
Penn interviews from September through the end of January or even into February depending on the number of spots they have left

My status still says Received/Application Complete. For those who received an interview invitation, was your status Received/Under Review before you got the notification? Thank you

Mine still says that my status is Received/Under Review even though I received an invite a while ago. I think Penn is one of the few schools that doesn't update aadsas!

Congrats on the interview invite. When you received an invite what was your status on aadsas?
 
My status changed from app complete to under review this week, does this mean anything?

Do you get a notification on AADSAS when your status changes? I'm pretty sure my status before was app complete and now it says under review, but I can't confirm it actually changed or not

I haven't gotten notifications when other schools changed my status to invited for interview, but I'm curious nevertheless if notifications are sent out

I dont think you get a notification! at least i didnt when mine changed to under review
 
Does anyone know what your chances are for acceptance after an interview (Like how many students get a phone call on December 2nd)? How much are interviews weighed in comparison to the rest of your application? Penn is my top choice, so I'm super nervous!
 
hi everyone - just wanted to ask, does UPENN have a cutoff for where they view applications? For example, if the stats are lower than a usual applicant who has a 25AA or 3.8 GPA, do they still consider u? or do they just drop ur application?

They view applications holistically and they really emphasize extracurriculars/leadership/community service in their evaluation in addition to academic credentials. They dont have any cutoffs. I think this school is really good at giving every applicant a fair chance. I dont have a perfect DAT and GPA. Dont lose hope!

Congrats! It’s a relaxing interview. To answer your question, it’s hard to find concrete info since a lot of these types of data is self reported and schools do not report on # of interviews vs # of offers...sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

Oh wow this gives me hope that early June submitters are still in consideration for interviews!

Thank you! 🙂 And yes but it said that for a while. Even after the invite it still says “received/under review,” so I wouldn’t get too hung up on what AADSAS has listed!
 
I have not heard back from the school yet. Is it a good idea to call and say that this school is a top choice for me, so I would appreciate if they can update me on my application status?

I am asking because I have the same situation. It says that “received/application complete” and it has been forever like that. I am wondering if they update the status on AADSAS at all. ‍🤔
