I think someone said they'd send them out on Monday, March 11, and hopefully also post on the website.
Good luck all. I know I'm getting antsy...

In my opinion it works like this:
Schools look over your grades and MCAT scores before they decide to interview you. If you are interviewed it means that your grades and scores are in the acceptable range.
After you are interviewed your interview is what counts most.

Has anyone been checking the Penn status check lately? I've checked it a few times, and it doesn't seem to work for me. Anyone else experience this? I have the feeling they have rejected me and already wiped me out of their system. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />
Try this link to the status check page. If you bookmark the page too far in then it won't work.
Hope this helps

Will they be posting on the old status check page (the one someone linked to earlier), or will we get a brand-spanking-new page to check? It seems like the current one is only geared towards checking whether your application is complete or not.

ok, so you guys like to talk: tell me what attracts you so much about Penn. I'm open to being convinced.
c'mon . . . I interviewed there right after a couple of other schools that I really loved, and Penn just kind of blended in, but now some profs of mine are trying to convince me that I should have my heart set on going there. . .I remember happy students, but is the curriculum there unique? pbl or traditional? graded or not? Anybody?
does anybody know what the deal is with MudPhud apps at Penn - do we still use the same update page that the MDs use?
cuz for me it has changed - I've heard the MD's page was pretty sweet and they could choose their interview dates. Mine (even after the interview) always said "application complete"

DarkChild,
I applied MD/PhD to Penn also. Were you there on Jan 24/25? Anyways, what changed about your application status?
I'm assuming taht we will get notified the same time as the regular MD candidates?
good luck, is Penn your first choice?

I attend Penn. Just want y'all to know that the committee waitlists a ton of people that end up being accepted. I am one of them. I can't give exact figures but I wouldn't be surprised if at least one third of my class came off the waitlist. That was also a few years ago - not sure if they hold to the same tactics.
Bottom line: Don't be too discouraged if waitlisted, and be sure to let them know you're still very interested - worked for me.
My best.

Hey Lt. Ub, thanks for your insight---quick question though....
Upenn is my numero uno, so if I get waitlisted how do you suggest those people who really want to go to Penn let their intentions be known to the adcom. Send letters, call? If you do send letters, how frequently, once a week...and if you call, who do we talk to (Gaye Sheffler?) and what in the #@$%! do you say?
Thanks for your help

anyway I was neuro.
As for Penn MudPhud - its my only choice! It here or back to banking.
So come on Penn

Hey grasshopper, I went to PENN undergrad, and have had tons of exposure to PENN Med...And I totally love it!
The curriculum is actually a blend of prb based learning/lecture, and is pass/fail during your first year. My advice is to talk to students/faculty...Everyone I know who goes to PENN Med loves it!! You start clinicals earlier, and have more time to explore electives during your last couple years! Philly is no NY, but its also not the worst city to have to spend four years...Obviously I love PENN, and am praying i get in...But I guess, if you really don't have an interest in going, you shouldn't try and convince yourself you'll be happy there...go where you feel comfortable.

kjigga,
Good to hear of your interest! I'm can't tell ya the best way to communicate with the adcom, but I'll tell you what I did. The week after I graduated I sent a letter to Penn. Honestly I can't remember exactly how I addressed it. It would be perfectly appropriate to address it to Admissions in Suite 100, and perhaps "Attn: Gaye Sheffler." In my case I had been given a couple of honors since my application in the fall - the type of stuff I wish they knew. I also updated them on my transcript. I let them know that they remained my number one choice and would gladly give up the school I was heading to if accepted. Basically that was it - just a few paragraphs.
Hope that helps. Best of luck.
