Nope...

My friend did, right before Thanksgiving. We are both in-state.

I'm curious to see if anyone has gotten a January invite in December...

I got an invite and scheduled for Jan. 7. I'm OOS

I got one about this time last year and got a feb1 acceptance. Keep your head up and good luck. If y'all have any questions feel free to ask. VCU has been great so far

I'm not sure what the exact chances are, but a friend of mine interviewed pre-Dec in a previous cycle and got in on Feb 1.
 
Does anyone remember what Dr. Healy said in the interview about sending him an email in December if not accepted December 3rd?
 
My status changed to Invited for Interview in AADSAS on 1/4. Probably declining the interview, though.

My status just changed to "Invited for Interview"! (Applied a little late). Do they email as well or should I just be expected a letter in the mail?

So I'm OOS and my interview is scheduled for February. I've read the website and I always hear great things about this school so I am excited about the interview.
However, how do you guys feel about Richmond as a city? My parents lived in VA and my older brother went to Va Tech for undergrad, and they all were hesitant about Richmond quality. I would be ecstatic to be accepted there and it wouldn't keep me from going, but I am curious how people near there feel about the city itself.

I have friends at VCU undergrad. and medical school. They all seem to be having fun there.

There's no kidding that Richmond is dangerous at night. At night, you should stay near campus, walk in groups if you can, and try not to stay out for too long.
 
Does anyone know how much of the class is filled? I applied a little later and have an interview in two weeks and am really interested in VCU. For anyone who interviewed there, would you mind PM'ing how things are run during the day of the interview. I'd really appreciate it!
 
Invite for interview came in the mail TODAY! Really looking forward to this. Its my number one school by far. I can say what I have heard is that Richmond is safer than most people think. I know lots of people that moved there and they love it. As in really really love it. So that's my 2cents.

DAT for me: PA/22,QR/16, RC/21,TS/18,AA/19
GPA 3.3

Have to have hope. Impress on the interview and make them like you. Treat it as an adversarial adventure with humor and redirect every question back to things you want to talk about and you will do fine. Never mention a weakness and always get them to verify what you are saying to them.

Sorry to lecture. Interviews change minds. You are a number until someone remembers you and the things you say. Impress them with your words and you are in. Numbers are irrelevant once you have your chance to recreate yourself in their mind. To be remembered is silly. To be thought of as intriguing and insightful is the name of the game.
 
Did they update your portal at all or did you just find out through the normal mail? And congrats!
 
Got an invite in the mail too! It's my second one, (first Case came through->that one is Mon, Feb 5th), I'm super excited and looking forward. Mine is schedule for Monday, Feb 11th. Anyone interviewing the same time and want to meet up?

From what I believe, interviews past Feb 1st or 4th (depending on when Dr. Healy sends out the next round of acceptances) would be for a waitlist position. If I remember correctly, he said that the class should be full with that next round of acceptances going out, BUT I could be completely wrong. My interview was way back in November, so I honestly don't remember what he said word for word. I'm hoping one of those spots is mine though, haha.

I just checked last years acceptance thread...People received acceptances on 2/1 and 2/21....lets just keep our fingers crossed friend!
 
Hey so i had my interview at the 12th and Dr. Healy said that Feb 1st would be the earliest we would hear back and they would call. Im so nervous-does anyone know how many seats are left? Most of my interviewees were from VA-im from NC
 
I think those people interviewing in February are competing for about 30 spots. This is a wild guesstimate based on what I read and hear.

10 or spots or so left in the class (hence the binge of ISS folks getting interviews now)
10 or so spots on the D5 program.
10 or so spots for the wait list group.

Just my two cents but it seems plausible based on the volume of people they have already seen. Not many openings left.
 
Anyone know how many OOS seats left...can we get in state after first year?

From what I've found its nearly impossible to get in state =/

hey guys check your aadsaas!! i just checked mine for my status at UNC and it was changed to denied. BUT my status for VCU changed to "offer made"
 
whether that is a for a spot or for a d.5 spot im not sure....im really hoping for the latter

Yep, mine changed too. Well this is an early surprise! It only changed on the computer site...not the mobile site.

Looks like AADSAS messed up again! They released stuff early on the 3rd too. Hope this one isnt a mistake!
 
so I'm assuming if our status hasn't changed that we are either going to be waitlisted or denied?
 
they dont deny until the end of the selection.
You will be just in the pool for a long long time...
2 years in a row with the interview at VCU but no acceptance.

I am in the same boat with my state school.
 
at least you got into VCU and Tufts! Congratulation!!
I am currently waitlisted in UMDNJ (hopeless) and no news from VCU after an interview..
 
doesn't VCU only have interview on Mondays and Tuesdays?
How did you interview on a Saturday?

Was your thing marked changed on the 30th? when did you interview?
 
My mistake guys the 12th was the last interview for UNC- I've been fixated on that and following their time flow. lol
my interview was on the 15th at VCU.
 
What was the major event that happened yesterday or the day before that? Are lots of schools making decisions yesterday, Jan 30th?? So is it official that invites now are for D5 only at VCU?

No, VCU still has seats open for the 2017 class. I know a buddy of mine who got accepted last year into VCU and his interview was the last day of interviews.
 
I haven't gotten a call yet so still hot sure. Portal updated though
