yeah per our interview Dr. Healy said that there were still seats thats why theyre still interviewing. and on the 2/1 he would call and either offer a seat, offer d.5, then waitlist

If this "offer made" is a D.5 I will be pretty unhappy. Did they say AADSAS would say offer made for the D5 students too or will Dr. Healy just call those students?

yeah i am on the same feeling- but i am not sure if offer made is ambiguous or not.....still waiting on that phone call! lol
 
I hope it's not a glitch and I hope it's for a real seat!
 
What type of essay is written on the day of the interview?
 
If u had a Jan interview and u didn't get accepted does that mean automatic rej or could it also be possible waitlist? Jw, thanks!
 
The essay varies I think but basically it's about taking a stance on a topic. For me 1/15 our topic was about the environment

For those of you all wondering about the D.5...

Dr. Healy doesn't notify those students until March, and the AADSAS status doesn't change for it. Unless they are doing things differently this year from every other year, if you have an "Offer Made" you are in for 2017! Congrats!

For those of you waiting to hear about a D.5 spot...

I was a D.5 last year, and it's honestly a pretty sweet deal. My D.5 year was of course pretty easy, but so far my D1 year has been a breeze compared to the rest of the D1s so it can really be beneficial - especially if you want to specialize. Good luck to you all and once March rolls around be on alert for a call from Healy :luck:

My essay was of the ethical dilemma type. We cannot give details about the essays. I thought it was kind of neat that they make you write an essay. They just want to make sure you can get your thoughts on paper. Although, it's sort of nerve-racking because they read them before you leave for the day.

Don't be that guy that writes three pages front and back either. This is not a contest to see who can write the most in 30 minutes. Be clear and concise. Don't be nervous about the essay content. If you are smart enough to make it to an interview you will be able to handle the essay.

Good to know. The D.5 does sound like a pretty sweet program. Congratulations to you. I may PM some of you Virginia guys to ask about Richmond in general and where to live.
 
guys i just emailed the VCU- they said they would send a formal letter in a few days. I am not sure why there isnt a call or email but formal letter soon!

That's strange. You would think they would call since we only have 15 days to put down a deposit.

Did they say they have already sent the letter?

I had my interview today and I loved it. Hopefully I will get an acceptance on 2/18!

it's pretty much impossible unfortunately :/

i did my undergrad in VA, and i even stayed in the state during my gap year, but i was told it probably isn't gonna happen even with all that. i posted something on the third page about the state laws with in-state tuition so you can look at that for the specifics

Congratulations on the acceptance! Do you know if they planing on having another batch of interviews for the following weeks?
 
From what I gathered the last two interview days will be on Feb. 11/12, and I believe those will be the end of interviews for this cycle.
 
My interview is on Feb 11, just wondering when is the earliest we could hear back? Feb 18th? (Deposits are due 2/15 (right?) and I'm wondering if it would be the following Monday).

Yes, deposits are due on the fifteenth for anybody with a Feb. 1 acceptance, so admissions knows the exact number of seats to fill on the 18th. Good luck with your interview!
 
Does anyone remember what color scrubs the class of 2017 will be inheriting?

I doubt there will be any word today. If you consider the fact that the last group got word on feb.1 and they get 15 days from the date of written notice, that means their offers wouldn't expire until this past friday at the earliest. i know dr. healy said we'd hear by the 20th (which is wed) but i wouldn't hold my breath.

Deadline for 2nd deposits: Friday, Feb 15
(Earliest we could possibly hear back: Monday, Feb 18)
Earliest Dr. Healy said: Wednesday, Feb 20
Earliest Ms. Tweedy said: Either this Friday, Feb 22 or the following Monday, Feb 25

However- Ms. Tweedy also said that not hearing back immediately does not automatically mean rejection. The dates (anywhere from Feb 20-25) are just the first possible dates we could hear back for an acceptance. Silence does not mean rejection! Good luck everyone :luck: 🙂

Were you interviewed on Feb 11/12? Someone said that those were the last interview days for this cycle. I guess that's it for me :scared:

I got a congratulations letter (snail mail) stating that I needed to submit another $2XX deposit by April. The initial $500 deposit only secures my seat until April.

I haven't received any financial aid packet yet. I think most schools send that out in late-Spring to early-Summer.

Well, yes technically we were told 2/11 and 2/12 were the last interview days but who knows. Every cycle is different. You should maybe call and ask the office tomorrow. I'm sorry if that's true, and wish you luck. And yes I interviewed that week.
 
Yeah 2/11 and 2/12 were the last days of interviews this year. They met in committee today because they needed until Monday for all the last invitee round from a few weeks ago to send in their checks to hold a spot in the class. No check in by this weekend and no spot was held. So that determines how many invites to offer this week for the remaining unfilled spots. Tuesday morning at 8:00 ADEA AADSAS web portal should flip to offer made if you get a spot. Then over the next week or so others will be called and offered a spot on the waiting list (up to 10 spots) or a spot on the D5 roster (usually 7-9 spots). Usually most of the wait list kids get in. But the total number of wait-listers and their ranking within those 10 spots wont be revealed. If 6 spots open 6 wait-listers get in and 4 go home.
 
Where did you get the info about AADSAS being updated tomorrow?
