Grr...Dairy Queen screwed up my order, and gave me a regular oreo blizzard instead of a MINT oreo blizzard.

Did anyone else get an email from Wes Norred regarding where they are on UTSW's waitlist? I'm curious to know if he's telling folks by deciles or by multiples of 5%.

For those of you who got the wait letter from TAMU, did your letter say something to the nature of " if your motivation for medicine is as deep and as strong as you indicated in your personal statement and interview, then I hope to see your application this summer ".

Is this generic ? Its almost like they don't believe me.

It looks like the divisions are: bottom third, middle third, top third, top 10 percent. If anyone got another division, let us know!
 
By the way, props to UTSW for their openness. There's no reason to keep all this secret, and UTSW is the only school I know of that has figured that out.

Yeah I agree. It might not have been as fast as I wanted the info but they put it all out there which I appreciate

it's generic. it's on my letter too.
 
Did anyone else on UTSW WL not receive the email?
 
I'm on top 1/3. Wait, they have top 10%? do they also have top 15%, 20% and so on?

In the email they said that they had 401 acceptances last year and TMDSAS said there were only 295 and that both were correct and goes on to explain this... I don't quite understand. Is it that they gave out 401 acceptances during the match but only 295 were matched??? Is that it?
 
1.)What's this top 10% category? You sure you not confused with the note about top 15% of ppl not accepted were waitlisted?

2.) I never knew there was a MINT oreo blizzard. I gotta get one soon. Taste esp. good since it's like 10 deg F outside

Yeah, that's they way I take it. I mentioned this earier and a possible scenario of this happening and ppl said it's not likely. I guess it is.

So I'd say that to make a comparison to this year, 295 offers were extended last year. That should give us an idea of what we are up against.


BTW, my email server is down... how many offers have been given thus far?
 
i got the same email as you guys from utsw, but mine said 25%...so i don't know if it's by 1/3 for sure.

"273 offers - 265 in Nov/Dec and 8 today"

So did the waitlist email say you're in UTSW's top 10% or top 5%?
