As an excuse to bump this thread...I have a question.

I have to make a presentation on Pain Management for one of my classes, and I was wondering if there is another program I could use (besides Powerpoint) to make the presentation fancier and more entertaining.

I want to use videos/graphics/sounds if possible, as well as include the usual information.

So, does anyone know of any programs, or good websites where I can get graphics and add-ons?

It snowed up here in denton too. We were outside playing soccer with the dog (the same giant one in my avatar) and all of a sudden my step sister looked up and yelled "ITS SNOWING!!!". it was pretty exciting. April.... in Texas.... snow.....😕

Yeah, it was snowing in D/FW today too. I got home from there late last night, and my real estate agent joked that if I had stayed the night I would've seen some snow.

But beware, Aggie ceremonies are unbelievably long and boring. My family was hopeful it would be short since they break up the services. No luck. Still 4+ hrs long.

Did you go to ring dance or are you flipping your ring at the ceremony? (I missed my ring dance so I flipped mine after I walked).

I don't know if I'm going to Ring Dance. I don't think any of my friends want to go (grrr two percenters 😉) but that is a good idea to flip it when I walk 🙂

ummmmm I really don't know. I don't want people to feel obligated, but I would definitely NOT turn anything down. but that is me. 🙂 So I really have no idea about etiquette. maybe you can google it?

Edit: I just started googling it, and it seems like an invitation does not oblige people to send gifts, but that if they do, you need to send a thank you. But I'm sure there could be more to it.

I think the only peole who got letters were those who sent a letter or email personally to Dr. Michael. If you sent one, then I don't know.

I'm also waiting for some UTSW movement. On the Waitlist thread someone said that his/her friend got off the waitlist recently. I don't really know what's going to happen.

My primary lender may have given Educational Direct my loan info and now they keep bothering me about consolidating. I was on the phone with them for the last several days because I thought they were my primary lender till I figured out they weren't. And they were so rude and pushy and keep spamming my mailbox.

I believe that at UTSW, most students get at least 1500 in grants, but this is not guaranteed and has nothing to do with being a TX resident.

I just have a Stafford loan but I still get info about consolidating all the time. It could just be a school/lender thing where anyone with a loan gets their info given out to consolidation places. I haven't gotten phone calls though, just tons of mail.

I get letters as well as phone calls. Usually when I hear telemarketers I just hang up on them, but sometimes if I'm feeling nice I just let them know that I won't start repaying until I finish graduate school. That usually does it...I haven't gotten calls in a while. 😎

The fact that they are so pushy would make me nervous, and what they are offering you sounds too good to be true. Watch for adjustable rates and/or hidden fees (including huge interest rate increases if you miss a payment,) but otherwise, it doesn't sound like a bad deal, actually.

I don't trust them either; because it sounds too good to be true (a 1 year CD is about 4.8 % today). Who should any lender be betting on, an FDIC insured CD or your premed student self?

A lot of lenders are pushy these days, so that is not surprising, many of the sellers of the loans are just trying to collect their fee, after the loan is made it will be initially funded by a warehouse lender (a bank) and then in 30 to 60 days it will most likely be packaged into a bond issue to be sold on the open market. Since the agent doesn't really care about what happens after the loan is made, they tend to be willing to do issue that are problematic for both the borrower and the lender.

Be sure to read any lending agreement extremely carefully.

I would think we accepted our spots when we went through the match. But I do remember sending a letter to all my schools accepting/or/declining. I received one with each acceptance package.

I kid you not... a written out chart with all the pros and cons. Then I talked it over with my sisters and they had this advice: If money was nothing at all, where would you rather go? After thinking about it for awhile I knew Baylor was the right choice.

I've never made a fiscally irresponsible move in my entire life (I picked A&M based on the scholarship) - and my oldest sister pointed out that we're talking about an extra 6 months of work once I actually reach my full earning potential.
