Tried to get on and check earlier but it seemed like SDN was down? Was it just me?
Did not seem like a terribly chatty D1 which is unfortunate as I feel that may bode poorly for the rest of the game.
Finally, if anyone has any arrows they'd like to pass me I'd be greatly appreciative. I have a feeling this may be an interesting item game.

I already told you wasn’t going to let you off the hook if you died; what makes you think that a small thing like SDN being down is going to stop me from calling modbandonment?SDN was down for me as well. Hence the write up delay.
Lol well one mod abandoned you before the game even started so we're all off to a great start [emoji23]I already told you wasn’t going to let you off the hook if you died; what makes you think that a small thing like SDN being down is going to stop me from calling modbandonment?
Omg. I couldn't check in it all.
Sorry guys lots of irl excuses to follow. I forgot the game was starting today and so during my break at work I was catching up and then the site went down for maintenance and it wasn't up until after my break was over. I have a first aid course tomorrow so I won't be on until the afternoon/evening when it's over.
Pffttttt this is how you know I'm not really a mod in this game.Just a reminder that there will not be punishments for ties in this game meaning 1. The tie-maker will not die and 2. Random players will not die.
Rabies vaccines. Also, what the hell does rvs mean?
This (SDN maintenance) happens when I mod. Glad my modlets are plagued with the same issue.I already told you wasn’t going to let you off the hook if you died; what makes you think that a small thing like SDN being down is going to stop me from calling modbandonment?
I agree on items. I find it incredulous that my character has no role ability...therefore I assume no one has abilities until I learn otherwise ...ps if you do have a role just shut up...we will find out eventually without you outing yourself,Tried to get on and check earlier but it seemed like SDN was down? Agreed, although you can keep your arrows. Finally, if anyone has any arrows they'd like to pass me I'd be greatly appreciative. I have a feeling this may be an interesting item game.
Interesting. Given that the intro post says that villain/good guy is RNG'd and not related to the characters in the show or comics, though, it might be that abilities are also RNG'd. So, your character might have no bearing on the ability you do (or do not) have. I can't really comment because I don't know the show. I do already have a theory related to the items, though.I agree on items. I find it incredulous that my character has no role ability...therefore I assume no one has abilities until I learn otherwise ...ps if you do have a role just shut up...we will find out eventually without you outing yourself,
...P.S. however, you saying "shhhh we will find you, power roles" is not my faaaaavorite thing I've heard this morning.

Things were amiss last night. Some adventerous ones decided to wonder outside the walls in the dark. As they walked in the silence of night everything felt so calm. Admiring the moonlight from his motorcycle he didn't hear a thing until he was startled by a crawler. Focusing on that one 2 more walkers came into sight and as Daryl shot one in the head with his arrow another bit him in the stomach. He raced back home to only collapse infront of the gates bleeding and bitten! Everyone raced over yelling "Help! Help!" Medical care rushed over. He tried his best, but a bite not on a limb cannot be amputated. Infected is @kcoughli .

I don't like anyone on the board, but am ready to break the tie closer to deadline.
Can I ask what you meant by this?
Ughh nooo this was the first time I was able to get on today...
What are you thinking today?
@Melchizedek just wondering who you would have voted for yesterday had you placed a vote at any point?
So looks like this might function similar to the recent lounge game with a delayed death (maybe personal protection just delays wolf kills vs stops them?)
Or am I reading this wrong and is KC toast?
Or am I reading this wrong and is KC toast?
Mel holding his vote to "break a tie" that was obviously going to be broken by one of the people being lynched is so sketchball that I almost wonder if there's some reverse psychology going on.
Part of me hopes there's some kind of medical ability/item to reverse an infection, but if we're keeping strict with the theme of the game and what happens when someone is bit...there's no coming back from it once you're infected :/So looks like this might function similar to the recent lounge game with a delayed death (maybe personal protection just delays wolf kills vs stops them?)

You're both making me reaaaally nervous about how loosely you're playing with your role/abilities.
...P.S. however, you saying "shhhh we will find you, power roles" is not my faaaaavorite thing I've heard this morning.
Elaborate?

With the exception of Pippy's vote on Skimble, all the other votes were either random, for shiggles, or pressure to get people talking. I don't like voting for any of those three reasons. I had reasoning that Skimble's initial vote was weird (a thought already expressed by Pippy), but it was flimsy so I didn't vote there right away. Since we were potentially looking at a tie/wafflefest; I would have voted on the only (albiet weak) reasoning I had. Skimble broke the tie, so I found it unnecessary to vote especially since I'd already registered my complaints about her on thread.
Normally am not big on rezzes as wolf concerns, but given that this is The Walking Dead, which I would venture to guess* means dead people coming back = bad, I'm assuming we should lynch Weim before end game.
Edit: forgot to specify I was talking about Weim
*Again, actually have a shocking lack of knowledge about this show other than the fact that it's hella popular and apparently this season kinda sucks

If they had both come back on to self-preserve vote, it still would have been a 3-3 tie.Mel holding his vote to "break a tie" that was obviously going to be broken by one of the people being lynched is so sketchball that I almost wonder if there's some reverse psychology going on.
The write-up makes it clear, there's no hope for KC because she was bitten in the abdomen, and it couldn't be amputated. The lore says there's no cure for the zombie disease (or at least up until the current season I've watched)Part of me hopes there's some kind of medical ability/item to reverse an infection, but if we're keeping strict with the theme of the game and what happens when someone is bit...there's no coming back from it once you're infected :/
Y thoYou're both making me reaaaally nervous about how loosely you're playing with your role/abilities.
If roles/abilities RNG, then why not? Also it appears KC may (?) have just died as village.
Not sure what there is to elaborate on; I thought his comment sounded kinda wolfy. Like "oh noes, please don't share your power roles if you have em...I definitely do not want to know those, wink wink nudge nudge, and I'll find you anyways & kill you so it doesn't matter if you share"Elaborate?

Interesting thought, tin foil hat idea, what if the game starts low on wolves/zombies and the number increases as we lynch? Could be RNG if they rez zombie vs new survivor?Normally am not big on rezzes as wolf concerns, but given that this is The Walking Dead, which I would venture to guess* means dead people coming back = bad, I'm assuming we should lynch her before end game.

That's the best I got for now, although I didn't particularly like Jil's votes yesterday or the attempt to explain both away as a joke, either.

HrmI miss seeing your vote though.
This sounds a liiiiiittle bit like new & improved woofy you. Not enough for me to vote for you yet, but...

Because SOV claiming Vanillager, and KC soft claiming Daryl just helps wolves narrow down who they'd like to take out on mere suspicion of abilities. I'm of the opinion that Vanillagers should help keep the smokescreen up and make it confusing for wolves, not make it easier by claiming.Y tho
If roles/abilities RNG, then why not? Also it appears KC may (?) have just died as village.
KC soft claiming Daryl and then being targetted for infection/kill/whatever last night makes me want to think she's village. However write up doesn't say anything about KC dying or her affiliation, just infected, so I'm not ready to call her village until I know for sure.
Okay I'll have to defer to others on this one, I haven't played with SOV and don't know if taunting is his style, but I read that comment from him in a different tone. Not sure what there is to elaborate on; I thought his comment sounded kinda wolfy. Like "oh noes, please don't share your power roles if you have em...I definitely do not want to know those, wink wink nudge nudge, and I'll find you anyways & kill you so it doesn't matter if you share"
In a game where the mod is calling for blood outside of the people tied? Yes.I miss seeing your vote though. Also, are you opposed to ties?
In this game? I'm less opposed if we know we're not unnecessarily risking the death of two villagers. (Meaning we have strong and equal justification that both should be lynched)

How would we know both are village? Both being up for lynch doesn't mean both will die though. I still think counterwagons are good to analyze too.

In other news, my best friend and I enacted a zombie pact in our friendship a few weeks ago. We have sworn to kill the other if s/he becomes infected in the zombie apocalypse.
#truefriendship
Seems like that might be too obvious. Just like the fact that kc was announced as infected makes it seem like too obvious a lynch target. So I guess the question is how crafty are these mods and would they be devious enough to make something seem too obvious to be right but end up being right anyway?Normally am not big on rezzes as wolf concerns, but given that this is The Walking Dead, which I would venture to guess* means dead people coming back = bad, I'm assuming we should lynch Weim before end game.

According to my PM, I'm toast at lynch close. So looks like this might function similar to the recent lounge game with a delayed death (maybe personal protection just delays wolf kills vs stops them?)

I took a shot. I was hoping the boldness would make wolves wonder why I was being so bold and would be hesitant to come after me. Had I only gotten to some arrows first...You're both making me reaaaally nervous about how loosely you're playing with your role/abilities..
It does say that my soft claim is legit. Or maaaybe I'll still be around to hunt wolves...Hm...
Let me rephrase it this way: If both people up for lynch are sufficiently wolfy, I'm okay with one/both of them dying. If one of them is wolfier than the other, I'll vote there and break the tie because I'd rather see the one I think is wolfier die than the one I think is villager. How would we know both are village? Both being up for lynch doesn't mean both will die though. I still think counterwagons are good to analyze too.
Last night, I didn't think either of them were wolfy, but it was D1. We need info D1 and I would have rather Skimble flipped over Weim for the info. I waited til closer to deadline because I thought Weim and Skimble would both self-preserve and make a 3-3 tie, and then I could vote Skimble to break that tie.
No flip = No trust hahaBoo

Tin-foil-hat-theory that KC is a wolf and was looking for arrows so that she could double kill, but a third party zombie attacked/infected her preventing her from killing; hence, no outright wolf-kill last night.
On re-reading I don't like this. It sounds like a wolf pointing out something easily twisted as sketchy to galvanize a lynch, but then choosing to stay on a joke vote to avoid coming under scrutiny the next day.+1 for skimble trying to get pressure on someone because this smattering of votes is annoying
-1 for skimble because her second part to her reasoning had me going "....what?"
lynch weim because I'm not about to make an 11 way tie and I historically have a hard time reading her

Tin-foil-hat-theory that KC is a wolf and was looking for arrows so that she could double kill, but a third party zombie attacked/infected her preventing her from killing; hence, no outright wolf-kill last night.
Wolves have a delayed kill mechanism consistent with the theme of the show, and this is exactly what it appears to be.
How would a 3rd party's wolf hunting be that spot on given that KC posted like...twice yesterday, and if they were wolf hunting, why would they assume that someone who implied having an ability that was activated by the receipt of arrows was a wolf and not a village assassin or some such...and also since when are 3rd parties really that opposed to people outside their faction dying in the first place?
Edit to add: your numbers are also off. If she was looking for the arrows for a double kill, there would still likely be a wolf kill.
I guesssss if they had her doing the killing, and infection = block, then that would check out, but imo it would not be the smartest to have your as-yet-inactive double kill wolf draw that kind of attention on D1. Particularly because when an extra person ends up shot through with arrows the next night, people are probably gonna have some questions about that.

Kind of a weird question for show-watchers:
In the show, what types of behaviors are valued as "good"?
i.e. what would be some examples of character traits that are held in particularly high esteem, and what are some traits that are common in characters who are successful? And would you say those 2 categories are often the same thing, or different?

Well Rick (leader of the good guys) is thought to have a lot of integrity, but he also has no problem killing to protect those he loves. Negan (a bad guy on the show), is also very successful because he is also a leader, but he doesn't really give a **** what happens to his people, and he keeps people in line by publicly torturing people who don't follow the rules or that try to betray him in any way. Does that help at all?Kind of a weird question for show-watchers:

I like this general description. I guess a more focused series of questions might be:
- is risk-taking a valued and/or rewarded behavior trait (i.e. is it seen as courage or recklessness)
- what other behaviors tend to lead to rewards of some kind and what ones get people dedded
Risk taking can be good or bad. Sometimes it works out (if you are Rick), sometimes it makes you dead (like most of the characters that are now dead). Courage is definitely a good thing, and it's something people admire about Rick, except for that period of time where he turned into a wimp, and everyone wanted to punch him in his stupid face.Kind of.

Ingenuity/resourcefulness are probably the most valued traits.
