Gonna also go out on a limb here and say Mel is in his cups after finishing finals...as a few people warned they would be today if game started now 😉

I am not currently in a similar state, but make no promises about later tonight after I am done driving for the day, as discussed in sign ups lol

I mean it would have made sense if you continued to pressure Staff but then you switched to Pipsqueak as soon as she made a pretty logical conclusion that staff was nooby. And now me? It might just be your style to attack everyone and everything but I don’t like the gameplay.

Disclaimer: yes as Pips pointed out, I may or may not be in mah cupsz

It's better to get votes out early. That way we can put pressure on someone, get a response, and then evaluate whether we want to stay on them or not. It also helps with discussion, especially D1. Your comment didn't really add anything. What did you find interesting about the early votes? Why not throw out a lynch vote yourself?

This one stood out the most for me. "Not standing up for her or anything but..." Psht that is totally standing up for someone. Not saying wolf, but definitely caught my eye.

Then of course we have the pip-staff-dy-mel face off. I do agree with Pip that it read noob to me rather than wolf, however I could see dy's point with the subtle-support being potentially too knowledgeable. However, I also agree with Mel that for dy this seems a lot of talk for Day 1 (but maybe her time in mafia has chaaaanged her? it's also been a bit since I've played with her I think...). All of this wishy-washiness to say I find it weird that dy pointed out Pip's subtle backing of staff but not allie's blatant backing of greeney.

Going to go with my gut on this one and

This is pretty close to what Pippy Pony said on my behalf to protect me when she was a wolf last game... "She's kind of a newb, give her a break, this sounds like her

For now at least, I thought the defense of greeney and then sudden backing off was weird. But I don't think I've played with allie before, so grain of salt and all. Willing to reserve judgment on staff wielder for now with them being a brand new player.

Actually I had the same thought as dy about pippy's comment. Like paws said, pippy has defended fellow noob wolves in the past in a similar matter to get everyone off their backs.

Yeah, I did that once. And not until she was taking actual heat.

Plus, I really only did that in Paws' case because I am her manator and I (legit, not just because we were wolves) felt like she deserved to play in a game for longer than a day -- she had played a few times but kept getting lynched before she even got a chance to really figure out how it worked.

so many people I don't know... easy to either vote them so I know who I'm dealing with that's left, or to leave the focus on veterans that I can analyze/maybe read better. Neither seems like good strat. Hate first day votes.

I like how it's not a lynch, just my name in bold. Makes me feel special. Also, did not say anything about so many commentators or my head hurting or the tally being everywhere so... thanks for raising my hackles. Noted. (actually not noted because I am no longer dedicated enough to make spreadsheets, so mentally noted?)

I am going to politely decline. I tried to read the MU game with WildWife hydra and... just too much. Plus I am not up for tracing down new meta right now. Gonna stick with my feels until another shiny distraction/red flag pops up.

Fine by me. I do have the next 3 weeks completely off from work though. Which means I have time to be in thread and I'm much more used to faster paced games.

It's not at all unfair. It might be a cheap tactic, but hey, considering people have pulled the rage-quit routine to try and hide being a wolf, or the "my real life has sucked that's why I haven't been here" it's certainly no LESS cheap.

And mods can easily circumvent it by making everyone's PM completely different or everyone, including wolves, completely identical (except for the obvious "You are a <wolf|villager>".

I don't really like villager code, because it feels cheap. But that doesn't make it unfair.
 
I was thinking about this “you can PM the person above” thing and realized it is a giant telephone string in each region. ie if player d can talk to player c can talk to player b can talk to player a... but then there might be wolves in those links.
And, in reality it works out as “you can pm above and below” in reality unless it is intended to be one-Way PMs.

This has been “FTB’s deep thoughts” tune in next time for more randomness.

Fun note: it is against the rules on mu and is considered a form of angleshooting.

They get around it being an issue at all by having most mods post a sample villager and wolf role card

lol, I thought that was all I had to do, name in bold. Didn't know it needed the word "lynch" in it.

In trying to paraphrase you in listing all the names in the "face off" I added in my comments in /backslash/ as my own joking commentary on it, to explain that I may not be getting all the names involved right, because per your own post there's like 4 people. I should have been clearer that was my own editorializing of the sitch and not yours.

I still find the statement "weird that dy pointed out Pip's subtle backing of staff but not allie's blatant backing of greeny" to be the statement that set me off.

Because I still find what I feel like is nitpicking this way.... sorta forced and more wolfy than villagery. I could be wrong. I'm willing to back off if anyone in the queersome 4some or anyone commenting on them, starts to seem more off.

This is ridiculous, because it's the same crap about me that always comes up early in the game. Plus you guys wolfed with me the first time I ever wolfed, one game ago, so you should have some idea about me.

It would be hilarious if I got a post restriction where I had to like every post, but as you can see, totally unnecessary. I think I actually didn't like a few.

I am fully aware that people find comments about how they will be busy, to be a wolfy excuse to be seen on thread less. You know when I wolfed last time I took great pains to provide all the content expected of me. If I was wolf again, I wouldn't mention the excuse, and I wouldn't lie low, because it's seen as wolfy. It seems to me more likely that a villager would risk looking wolfy to excuse what might look like wolf behavior but is unavoidable IRL stuff, to avoid being lynched, as a way to help village. It seems like all downside for a wolf to draw that kind of attention to gameplay.

Unless you wanna think I would do just that so I could say what I've just said. Before you say I'm using WIFOM circular logic, let me point out that my point is that YOU are using that logic to come to a conclusion about me. You'll have to decide based on meta and whatever else I say if my comment has anything to do with my affiliation or if it's just Cray being Cray. As always, comments about my activity are based on truth and nothing else. Try harder.

LIS, you're hard to read as villager or as a wolf, partly because you pick someone traditionally regarded as "sketch," even when it's their typical behavior, and ride them the whole game. It's a throwaway vote to focus that way. It makes you harder to pick out as a wolf, as happened last game.

Besides that, you add a lot of sharp logic to a WW game. We'll have to see if the balance is more in favor of solid on thread wolf-hunting from you, or typical-LIS-style throwaway votes on the classically sketch, in an attempt to hide your wolfy self. Because if you don't bring your sharp game, the village should consider that they can't afford to take the chance that wolf-you is skating by like that.

I'm glad I said all that before I get wolf-killed N1 like I did last game.

UPDATE: Southern (!) flying squirrel has bruised ear but was otherwise BAR when admitted to clinic; they will be checking more carefully for puncture wounds/monitoring for a bit and then sending him to rehab for the remainder of the winter since this species cannot be released into temps as cold as these.

lol, I know in our era of SJWarrior-ing it's a dangerous turn of phrase, but no other made up -some adjective really worked for me, and I really like the sound of the word queer when used in a totally non-pejorative way, in the old fashioned sense of something strange or noteworthy, or to refer to individuals who self-identify with the term.

Partly, like those who identify as queer, I'm trying to "take back" the term - use it as it was always meant to be used. It shouldn't be a bad word. And female dogs are bitches, roosters are cocks. I'm tired of so many taboo words.

EDIT: really sorry if I offended anyone. Wasn't my intention. I think I'll try out another unique word for the next -some.
