i plan on applying to JSP in about a month from now once the fall semester grades are out. I'm surprised no one has received any interview invitations yet. My friend who applied last September had his interview by now! Anyway i'm kind of nervous about applying. My GPA is about a 3.2 right now and my PCAT composite was 69 but i got an 80% in bio and 88% in chem. I'm hoping that the science scores would be seen as more important to them. Can anyone chime in on these results and give their opinion on my situation? Thanks

I'm applying this year. I went to their open house this year and I absolutely love their program. Everything is structured like a top-notch program and everybody there was fantastic. Anyway, my stats are below...not impressive but I hope some things in my personal statement explain that.

- GPA: 2.86
- sGPA: 2.86
- PCAT: 85 composite, no subsection below 69
-I have almost 500 hours of volunteer work including about 250 at a hospital that includes shadowing physicians in the ER, observing surgeries, and pharmacy shadowing and volunteering.

Fingers crossed that my PCAT, extracurriculars, and explanation for a poor first college year at least get me an interview!

I got an e-mail invite yesterday. On it they have an attachment you e-mail or fax back to them with interview dates. It had 3 December dates to select from.

For those who have got invites .. when did you submit your application??

I'm considering TJU. However, my PCAT reading score is < 50%. I read somewhere the min. sub-score accepted is 50%. I checked their website and no mention of sub-score minimum Anyone with a 50% below sub-score get invited for an interview? And, good luck on your interview...

The min PCAT is found on Pharmcas. It is 50%.

PharmCAS mailed my applications this morning and I received the supplemental from TJU today around 4pm. Is it typical to receive a supplemental that soon from a school? Also, approximately how long after submission of their supplemental application did it take to receive an interview invite for those who have received one? I'm nervous about where I stand for the program because I have a 2.86 cumulative and science GPA but an 85 PCAT. Has anyone gotten an interview invite with stats like that?

I received a letter from them saying they got my application and they will review it. Hope is not bad news. Good luck on your interviews!!!

I submitted my PharmCas in Late-August, and did their supplemental in early September. I just got my invite today. As far as I know, the earliest anyone has heard from them was on Friday..today seemed to be the big day that interviews were sent out. They're just getting in the swing of things. TJU, like many schools, are able to download the pharmcas application basically immediately...i never understood why they even bothered mailing them. That is whay you've heard so soon.

I completed my supplemental yesterday. Do they send a confirmation email saying that they are reviewing the application now?

Has anybody else interviewed or heard anything in terms of acceptance?

I got an email about an interview yesterday! So I'm waiting for them to reply with my date!! =]

Got one yesterday too even though I submitted so early on in the cycle :eyebrow:

Will be withdrawing even though I really wanted to visit 🙁 Good luck to you guys!

What's everybody's stats that have gotten interviews so far? Like PCAT and GPA-wise?

Does anybody have bboying as their extracurricular activities? 🙂

I just got my email for an interview here for Jan 8th!

I have a 82 pcat composite (94 in math and 88 in chem)
3.7 gpa
3.55 sgpa

=] good luckkk! I have my first interview tomo at TU and I'm nervous!!

I got an email from TJU today saying that they have reviewed my application and would like to see my grades from this semester before making a decision. Should I take this as a positive sign from the school?

Yea, I would say so. Its better than a flat out rejection email for an interview. TJU is probably looking at your fall pre-reqs course grades before deciding a decision...How many courses do you have remaining?

Well guys, my interview is this Saturday. I don't think we got any feedback from anyone for the 11th. I'll be sure to follow up and post by Sunday afternoon. Good luck to anyone that will be there this Saturday... And anyone interviewing in general.

👍 thanks. i'll be there monday! i wonder how soon they'll give an acceptance decision. last few years it was within days, however, this cycle seems completely different

As far as pre-reqs go, I have just orgo 2 and two languages to complete. I'm taking different biology courses though in order to fill a pre-req for Temple. I'm taking 18 credits in the Spring, mostly for my major though. My gpa for this semester should be in the 3.5 range.

It's been quite some time since I've actually posted anything on here. Congrats to everyone who received an interview invite. Make sure to dress warm, it is starting to get cold.

Hi Oaktownhomeboy! Thank you for the tour of the campus yesterday and answering our questions. You and your tour partner made the experience very pleasant. 🙂

Don't be nervous at all. Just relax and be yourself. I had my interview on Saturday. And while I do not have an acceptance (their time line is a few weeks, particularly with the holidays coming up), I felt it was relatively easy going. My interview was very conversational. Dialogue was back and forth, vs. simply question and answer (at least for me). Different people had different schedules. For example, I had my interview first, then tour, then Q&A with students. Other people had their day in a different order.

I was impressed. I think the resources of the University are phenomenal. And because Jefferson has a history in medicine/medical sciences, I believe the Pharm school will surely emerge as a leader.

For me, accreditation is a non-factor. After all, it is Jefferson. But then again, I am older and probably have a different perspective than someone younger that might be swayed by the simple statement "It's a new school"…there's so much more to look at/consider.

Not sure what else to say as far as feedback for the interview except that you really should just be yourself.

hehe thank you.. I consider Thomas Jefferson as one of my top choice school.
actually and I am from New York. Thanks for your input

Don't be nervous. You'll do fine. 🙂
Thank you for the encouragement. I have finished my interview today. I think I have left a bad impression at the beginning. The professor is very nice and the overall interview are very conversational. I don't think they gonna take me.. I am a bit sad and disappointed on myself.. Today we didn't get to have conversation with their students, because they are taking their exams today.

Dont be discouraged, remember that is from your perspective and its difficult to gauge what people are feeling during an interview. The Interviewer seldom gives feed back expressively. Chin up, you're still in the game unless they say your out.🙂

I had my interview yesterday. Like most people have said, don't stress. It's one of the most laid back atmospheres for interviewing that I could imagine. The only thing I'd say to do is to keep in mind that it's an open file interview. The woman who interviewed me specifically mentioned things she read in my essay and basically just wanted me to expand upon them. Overall, everyone was very nice and welcoming. The facilities were mostly very new, and the area is exponentially nicer than other parts of Philadelphia (i.e. Temple!)

The admissions comittee is meeting later this week, and they're hoping to have decisions sent out before xmas! :xf::xf:

Just saw my acceptance E-mail. Congrats Belle2BMD. Didn't get to see you in the interview though as I was part of the super early group in the morning.
