interview monday, acceptance on wednesday while in nyc...i'll take it 😀

congrats, everyone!

I have declined my January 7th interview. Although I would've love to visit and interview at this school, I decided to attend a school with warmer climate. 🙂

I am flying in on the 7th for my interview on the 8th. Does anyone know any cheap motel close by the pharm. school? Thks

There is a Holiday Inn Express on Walnut Street and its about a two block walk to the university. They have fairly decent rates right now.

Thanks Yes2es. Did you already have your interview here?

I wish. Jefferson said they wanted to see my fall semester grades. I'm very hopeful though. I go to school in Philadelphia so I know my way around pretty well.

Hi,

Mine is on the 7th. Yay, excited!!! Yay!! 😀

Try Westin. I think it's only a mile away. I'm not familiar with the area but worst case it's walkable!!! 🙂

Well guys, my interview is this Saturday. I don't think we got any feedback from anyone for the 11th. I'll be sure to follow up and post by Sunday afternoon. Good luck to anyone that will be there this Saturday... And anyone interviewing in general.

Please share your experience of interview?????

My interview was very on schedule, practically to the minute. Interview was very conversational, 1 on 1. Tour was by two students, and they were really nice and very knowledgeable about the school. Then we had a question and answer session with the same students. Some people have an opposite schedule but its basically the same. I left feeling great about the school. The interview alone switched me from Temple to Jefferson even though I've been an undergrad at Temple for 3 years.

Hope this helps =]

Good luck🙂

Thanks! I'll need it. This will be my first interview. If I won't screw up and get in, I will share. Right now, I feel like I'll do anything, like anything, to get in 😀

what's the dress code for the interview?? do we have to wear a suit? I'm a girl btw 🙂
its gonna be super cold!!!

You can dress up with a black pants, with a dress shirt and a black blazer, and a big coat over it..
You can hang your coat when you get to the office..

I got an interview invite today! My first choice is to interview this Friday.

I'm interviewing Friday! It seems like a pretty short, relaxed day based on the schedule they sent me. For those who have interviewed already, could you provide some insight in regards to what kinds of questions were asked during the interview?

The questions asked all really depends on who will interview you. My session was closed filed and very basic questions were asked. Eg. Why pharmacy? I know other people had open file interviews. The interview itself is relaxing and the student tour was informative. What most people don't realize(in any interview) is from the moment you step into the building, you are being interviewed (observed). So be yourself and be polite.

Good Luck

I had my interview today and it was the easiest interview in the world. It was very low stress. It was semi-open file, as she read my file and had some inquisitive questions but nothing deep. I wasn't asked about grades. It seemed more like a "get to know you" kind of deal. For future interviewers, don't stress at all about the interview, just know why you want to go into pharmacy.

how many interviews they take n how many applicants they select for interview?????

My memory could be wrong but I think they said they receive about 1500-2000 applications per year, only about half of those complete the application, half of those who complete the application are invited for interview, and half of those who interview are accepted into the school.

accepted as well!! didn't expect to get result this soon!!!! my interview was on last Friday and received acceptance email minutes ago.
Now I have decide between Temple and Jefferson...

They were very fast with the whole process. I really like the personal feel that Jefferson has with the small class.

I agree with u. #1 reason I like about the school is the size of class. prob Jefferson is the school accepting smallest number of students each year.
did u apply to Temple as well?

I did apply to Temple but I haven't heard anything back from them yet. I went to Temple for their undergrad program so I know about their pharmacy program and I prefer Jefferson to Temple by a great deal.

congrat everyone.. they just received by deposit today 🙂

My interview was on Sat too and i got accepted 🙂
$1000 for deposit???? wth thats wayyy too much... its only around $500 at other schools :/

deciding which school to attend is killing me now..both schools were my top choices and I did not expect to hear back from them. If I qualify for PA student tuition, Temple is cheaper than Jefferson. Temple has over 100 yrs of history in pharmacy as well. But I really like the size of class and the curriculum focused on practice. Can u tell me why u prefer jefferson over Temple?

accepted!!! i was really nervous after i didn't get an email yesterday and everyone else did...does anyone know approximately how long it takes for the admissions packet to come in the mail?

This is personal opinion, but I feel like Temple seems a little proud. I also feel like with the class size of Temple, it seems like you would be more of a number rather than a person (as is the case with their undergrad). The lady that I interviewed with, Dr. Pizzi, and the students on the tour, told me that Jefferson professors specifically take the time to get to know their students on a personal level. I also prefer the hospital affiliation of Jefferson to Temple. Temple's location also isn't the best. And lastly, the ACPE recently changed their accreditation requirements and the newer schools such as Jefferson are more able to accommodate those changes whereas more established schools such as Temple will have some issues restructuring curriculum.

I'm not trying to bash Temple because they do have a fantastic program, but it just isn't what I'm looking for in my pharmacy school and I can't see myself spending 4 years in their program.

Good luck on deciding which school to attend.

had my interveiew on sat & accepted on thursday!!!

I was accepted too! Interviewed Fri. heard back Wed.!! I love this school and the area around it - but I also have an interview coming up at a school much closer to home (which is also much cheaper and I would be able to live at home). Anyone know if the deposit is refundable or not?

Nonrefundable. Which sucks cuz it's $1000, but I'm going there so Idc lol

quick question: Has anyone who was accepted last week based on their interview on or around 1/7/11 recieved the application packet in the mail yet?

I interviewed 1/7, was accepted on 1/12 and was told the offer letter was in the mail and must be returned with the deposit within two weeks. I have not received my offer letter yet! I'd like to send it back asap though...
