Same I’m so stressed. I’m instate and I know quite a few in state people who applied and only one of them got the email yesterday so I’m hopeful more will be sent out soon

From a cursory google search, it seems like the university will be closed for break after today.
I highly doubt we will receive any news today

ASA at least wont be doing physical admissions meetings until after Jan 3rd. They may be open monday, but after that is a bunch of gift days from the university
 
Last year they sent phase 2 emails on December 21st... so maybe we will hear something today??

OOS applicant. I thought it would be sent yesterday too. 🙁

Looking at history it doesn’t appear that OOS interview invitations will be sent until mid-January.
 
Any idea when we should hear back from them since they oos didn’t get anything yesterday?

I took a look at their admissions webpage and they have a page up for interview accommodations and locking in special hotel rates by mid January in order to get discounted rates so I'm guessing we will hear by mid January at the latest?
 
OOS applicant, 0/2 so far with MSU and MU. 🙁 My hopes are not very high atm. My hours were low due to disability but the other schools didn't seem to care. I'm hoping this school actually reads my essays and eLORS and gives me a chance because finding a job has been super hard due to my physical limitations. My grades and GRE are quite good and I took a hard major so, here's hoping!

Illinois does read them! Once you make it past the initial phase 1 academic portion they read the rest of your app and then make admissions decisions based on your interview and the rest of the app, disregarding grades/gre for final decisions.

I was told by admissions advisors to not make my story like a sob story or anything, but it was so annoying because there really was no space to write about my circumstances so I had to try and be like HELLO I AM DISABLED. There was no space to put, "I only have this many hours because..." so I think that really hurt me with my other apps. However, I did write about that with MSU and was rejected super early so *sigh*. I really want this so bad, and am scared no one will want to hire me as a vet assistant in my gap year due to physical limitations so idek. My hope is that since I actually had a ton of space for UI to write a TON about myself and long long essays they could really learn about me and consider me despite only having like.... 160 hours experience.
 
I’m OOS. I just realized I have heard nothing from Illinois... not even a email in Oct like “Thanks for applying!” or any phase emails. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Some other schools have also been radio silent and I secretly wonder if they just forgot about me haha
 
Does anyone think that maybe it’s taking so long for phase 2 emails to come out for OOS because there was a large increase in applicants?

Hard to say but I know for another school I applied to, they received less applicants than they did last year but took longer to get back to us with decisions this year. It seems arbitrary and not all schools follow their same timeline every year. Maybe they just decided to take it easy for the holidays 🙂

That’s true! One of the schools I applied to also had less applicants than last year!
