Not sure if anyone else is feeling this way, but I really wish that the admitted student day was open to all accepted and waitlisted students. I feel like this is how most vet schools operate. I understand that there are limitations on space, and while I'm pretty sure that U of A is my top choice, I want to be certain and a visit to the school during this time would be extremely informative, especially as someone with a disability.

Hi! I totally understand why you feel this way and I would encourage you to reach out to admissions. Because more than likely, the visit day will help students make their decision on whether they want to accept or decline their seat so the waitlist will move more then! I agree with you that it would be beneficial for waitlist students as well. Maybe they’d be willing to offer you accommodations. Best of luck!

Can someone give an insight on Accepted Students Day? How helpful did you find it? Is it an all-day event? Do I need a car to get around? Any input would be appreciated. TIA

I am trying to figure out if it's financially feasible.

Even as a waitlisted student, you can reach out to Admissions and set up a time to view the school, talk to current students and get a feel for how things will work!
When you say set up a time to visit the school, do you think they would be willing to do this after their preview day? If I had gotten accepted, I had actually been planning on pushing back my flight for a vacation that I had scheduled that coincided with preview day, but if I'm able to schedule a different time this might actually work out better.

When I was accepted it was after the preview day. So I emailed the school and set up a time in June that worked for me to come view the school, and talk to a current student. I also did my apartment hunting in the same weekend (I had only 3 days) so it definitely is something you can do!

Does anyone know if U of A is pass or fail as far as the grading goes?

Hi! I went to accepted students day last year (they called it "Second Look"). I'm not sure if it'll be the same format this year, but when I went it was 1 full day (8am-4pm) and 1 half day (8am-12:45pm).
- Day 1 was entirely at the Oro Valley campus and included a welcome breakfast with faculty, a treasure hunt on campus, lunch with current students, a Q&A panel with 1st year students, and we got to sit in on a class for the 2nd to see the classroom dynamic.
- Day 2 began with a tour of the campus farm (its about 25 minutes from the vet campus in Oro Valley, but I remember they offered rides to those without cars. So you don't actually need a car, but its a good option to explore more of Oro Valley/Tucson if you plan to have any extra time to do so). After the tour, the day continued back at the Oro Valley campus where we had a hand on clinical skills activity, a Q&A panel with 2nd years, and ended with free time to speak with various departments and/or optional tour. Family and friends were welcome at both the farm/vet school tours on this day.

I think it is helpful to attend if you can, especially since UAZ CVM is such a novel program structure. I think its a good opportunity to check the vibe and see if it'll be a good fit for you. Also the people I met at second look have become my best friends in vet school! For me, it helped to start meeting my classmates early on so that when vet school did start there were at least be some familiar faces! 🙂

Hope this helps!

I officially put my deposit to hold my seat.
Are there any GroupMe or chats for incoming students? I would love to get to know my classmates and begin looking for housing.

I think there's a discord/GroupMe for us waitlisted folks but I'm not sure about accepted. Maybe UAZ makes their own chat?

I think they will put people into a GroupMe after you accept your seat? We definitely have a UofA made GroupMe for each class as well as the entire student body. So it will happen at some point, I am not sure what the time line is for it since they changed the admissions process this year.

Also do any current students have a list of housing in the area? I know it was briefly mentioned in the groupme that there might be one out there in an excel sheet. I have a list made up of some places I like but wanna see what others say🙂

Where was the place to pay your deposit? I accepted my seat and made my UAZ email and everything but I believe when I accepted my seat initially it said the deposit portal wouldn't open until April I think

I can make up a list of the main places near campus where I know people live. It is definitely not exhaustive but it could be a good start? Mostly it's about what you want to spend and how close to the college you would like to be.

For last years IS waitlist when did yall start to see the list move for waitlist

Does anyone know how we receive scholarship information? Do we accept the offer and then receive more info about it? Any insight would be greatly appreciated as it’s a big part of making my decision to go here vs someplace else! Thanks so much 😊

I got my scholarship information on July 4th. I am not sure if others got theirs earlier, but for timelines I would heavily suggest reaching out directly to the office of financial aid. They will be able to answer your questions way more in depth than I could here. You will want to make sure you go to the finances tab in the college of Vet Med though, not the general pool finance office. We have our own team dedicated to Vet Med.

I'm wondering if we remove ourselves from the waitlist, if they would be able to let us know where we ranked?

Just removed myself from the waitlist, hopefully that bumps some people up! 🙂 also I asked, and they will not release any ranks until April 21st whether you remove yourself or not.

Best of luck to everyone!
Goodluck to you too, manifesting the IS waitlist moves

Praying the IS waitlist moves a good amount this year. [emoji[emoji[emoji6]]][emoji[emoji[emoji6]]]

For anyone who has been accepted and accepted their seat did you get anything in the mail? I have a friend from a previous year who said they sent like a little welcome packet but I haven't received anything yet!? Congrats to everyone who got in !

Has anyone done the Summer Veterinary Research Program? How did you like it? What can you expect? I’m thinking about applying

Hello! I have officially accepted my seat to Arizona last week and created my NET ID last Friday. I was just wondering when everyone received access to the GroupMe after accepting? Not sure if I was supposed to get it already or if there is buffer in between accepting and getting access.
