How does that overadmit thing work? If they overadmitted 12 what would they do if they all accepted (I realize this would be highly unlikely), turn some down? As in "sorry, snooza ya lose".

I know Kansas had to take them all on the year they over accepted and everyone went there. And they over accepted by way more than 12

Well, yes! You guessed right! My attack cats look fearsome, right??? (actually, we have a sign on our window that says attack cat, and they tend to sit by it, making all the passerbys laugh at them. Well, they'll get theirs in the end.)

TigerWillow, I never thought i would get any interviews this year either.. but i got interviews to 4 of the 5 schools i applied to.. (damn U-Penn! lol), and declined WSU and Western after OSU offered me a seat. It has been a good first-time application experience, and thank god it will my be last!

If i get happen to get Davis, great.. if not.. i will be more than happy to attend OSU!

Funny. I, too, applied to 5 schools. Accepted to 3 and waitlisted at one other. Only school to flat out reject me was Penn. I have a sound theory that they don't care much for Californians as they realize if we have good enough stats for their school, we will likely also get viewed favorably by Davis and decline their offer anyway. :d

Could just be the DavisWe in me speaking... :laugh:

yeah.. i definitely was a little surprised that i didn't even get an interview for Penn.. but i support your theory! Hopefully this Davis waitlist situation will act favorably on my behalf.....

Again, thanks to everyone's encouragement to keep some hope in my life! I have been told by some first-years also that #7 is a hopeful spot.. I'm guessing the majority of declines will be later March or near the 15th of April, anyone has had experience or heard of how the waitlist moves?

Question for current students: With regards to the new curriculum, I understand that for 3rd and 4th year you have to pick a stream, and if you want to do zoological, you start out in large animal and then go to zoological, correct? So my question is, what if someone is interested in small animal and zoological? Is it possible to focus on both small animal and zoological, or would you have to pick one or the other? Thanks

Oh how I wish we knew. We re supposed to be getting a talk soon about how 3rd and 4th years are going to work. We know as much as you guys do - we've had the same talk from Dr. Ilkiw! You can ALWAYS ask the school, though!

The curriculum committee is currently in the process of fine-tuning logistics of a lot of the 3rd & 4th year options beyond the regular ones. 🙂

I think most went on a mean drinking bender after acceptances went out and have yet to sober up. At least two are out wandering the starry desert, pondering their navels, lost in existential reflections.

Me, I am just bewildered about how I will find housing when most listing I am seeing are for summer sublets. I guess the next step is to call up some of the managing agencies and consider a road trip up north if need be. Hope you're all well... 😉
