What email did you receive on 11/28?

During my undergrad I got minors in genetics and cell biology so one of my requirements for that was a 400 level cell biology course.

Nvm - it was sent out earlier in November! but it basically said they would contact us during the first or second week of december about interviews

Yeah the email I got said between the first and second week of December, but I’m yet to hear anything at all so that sucks. Maybe tomorrow? (Fingers crossed)

I took the regular cell bio course
offered at my school!

Congratulations!

Are you guys at all willing to share your stats? I know the email this morning said updates would be sent until Friday, but I am instantly panicking that I haven't heard anything yet 😅

Yeah so my GPA isn’t that high.
It’s a 3.4 and I didn’t take the GRE or anything so I don’t have those scores. I think what helped me is all the different types of experience I was able to get!

also, I really think they are doing it alphabetically? My last name starts with a C and I got my invite shortly after they emailed us letting know they are working on getting invites out!

Congratulations!

Yea sure! So I have 3.5 cumulative and I submitted my GRE scores which were 160 quant 164 verbal

Hey peeps! Don't know where everyone is with admissions timeline but I just got an invite to interview sometime in January! Though it's mid-December already, stay hopeful!

Hey! I am a recent grad from UC Dublin, so if you have any questions, feel free to message me. Good luck on your interviews 🙂
Hi! Were you an international student? I really love the thought of leaving to Ireland but I can’t help but feel like I’ll be so heartbroken to leave my family behind 😭 if you were an international student, how did you cope with the distance? And at the end of the 4 years would you say the VMCAS estimated total cost for the 4 years was accurate? I’m afraid that living in Ireland means more unexpected debt hahaha
Also, was the interview relaxed? Or stressful? What should I expect when I go into my interview?

Oh and how’s the weather over there!! I’ve lived in Florida my entire life so I’m just used to hot sunshine everyday 😂

Sorry for kind of bombarding you hahaha!!

also, huge CONGRATS to Graduatin

For the recent grads, how did y'all handle the cost of living in Dublin? Were you able to find affordable places to rent? And did you find that you needed a car in order to get to the farm or clinical placements and back?

Short answer: loans.

Def recommend living with roommate(s) to cut down on cost. Unfortunately rent prices tend to be pretty high around the campus. There is on-campus accommodation, not sure on prices for that.

I got by without a car ok. Having one would be helpful for traveling for EMS, but not necessary. For trips to the teaching farm, transport is arranged by the vet school.

Did anyone else not get a confirmation email of scheduling an interview even tho you replied back to them?

Congratulations to everyone that got an interview invitation! Has anyone gotten the confirmation of attendance email? The interview spot I was offered is January 4th so it's coming up pretty soon but I haven't gotten an email confirming it yet.

I did not receive a confirmation email either.

Congrats to everyone with interviews. I'm also an international applicant and I was offered an interview in January. I did not receive a response to my confirmation for the interview but I figure they will send out additional information here in the next week or so. Good luck to everyone 🙂

I received my interview invitation today! Good luck, everyone!
Hi I received my interview invitation as well, but I have no idea what it is like. I emailed them, but they didn't answer me yet. I wonder if you have any idea

Just got an email saying my application status changed so I guess that's confirmation? Does anyone know what the interview is going to be like?

I got an email this morning saying that they are working on sending our zoom links this week!

Another recent grad here- feel free to reach out with any questions!
Hi, I have my interview on Monday and I'm freaking out. I was wondering if they interview about current events dealing with animals or would issues dealing with animals? Or if I should just continue to focus on my mock interviews? Thanks for all the help!

I was accepted without an interview, so I’m not too much help there! Definitely be prepared to answer questions related to why you chose Dublin though!

Awesome, thank you! Is it possible to live outside of the city and travel in via public transportation, or would that be pretty challenging?

Yeah no problem! Definitely cheaper options further away from the university. I’d recommend checking daft .ie to get an idea of what prices are, there’s also a Facebook accommodation page (I think it’s something about USDSU accommodation support? @chilibean98 might remember). Several options for public transit- loads of buses go to campus, there’s also a DART (light rail) stop that isn’t too far from campus.

Does anyone know after the interview how long it will take to be notified of an offer or rejection?

Does anyone know how long the interviews are? My pup is going to head out for a walk so he doesn’t crash the interview and we’re trying to plan how long he should walk!

Mine was about half an hour, not sure if that's a standard length or not!
Omg how was it?! I have been so stressed about not knowing what to expect. This will be my very first interview ever so I am so nervous.

Also, congrats on completing the interview, I really hope you get in!

Thank you! It was my first interview too, I wasn't sure what to expect either! I'm sure you'll do well, I thought it was a great balance between formal and informal and they asked great questions. Good luck! 😊
Thank you! Would you say it was mainly based on your application? I have been re-reading mine but I have that lingering fear of not being able to answer a question 😂 Definitely nerve-racking but also very excited

Does anyone know roughly how many international students UCD accepts into their program?

Does anyone know about when we should be hearing back?
They're still interviewing international students (my interview is tomorrow morning) so I assume it will still be a bit before they finish all interviews and make decisions?

Hi everybody! I don't know about y'all, but I am channeling my nervous energy into trying to learn as much as possible about schools while waiting on decisions! I thought I'd share this page for anyone who is interested:

It has recorded interviews with students and staff that I've really enjoyed!

I had my interview on the 7th, for some reason I was under the impression that it was a group interview but instead it was a very standard 2 v 1 with pretty normal questions.

Yeah the interview was a really nice experience in my opinion! I didn’t feel overwhelmed or anything

Hey so for the email they sent out today - will they email us about acceptances? or is it just on the portal?
