and is one of them on the 4th of july?
 
i think that was just based on what people reported on sdn last year. we really have no idea.
 
Excited but also worried. Do you guys know if they reject off of the waitlist?
 
I'm tempted to say congratulations sona - when did you hear about the unranked waitlist? were you in the 4/9 group?

I was in the 3/21 waitlist group, I have no idea what this means....
 
What up everybody I have only posted once or twice but today feels like a great day to post. I had a status change on 5/30 called today and found out I was accepted!!! I was in the 4/23 waitlist group. Finally its over, time to party!!!! Congrats to everybody who got off the waitlist and good luck to those still waiting.
 
How do you know you've got a status change? Does it say something other than "Letter Sent?"

There was a status change on my status update page on the UCLA admissions website

I feel you guys, I totally gave up like 2 days ago and was like whatever. Now I have a whole new burst of life. ITS AWESOME!!
 
My status changed on 6/1, so I decided to call and see, and they gave me great news. I'm definitely going, and as an OOS resident, this means i get to drive across the country.

Good luck to all, I had completely given up hope, but everything happens for a reason.
 
Congratulations to those just accepted. I know exactly how you feel. i was in your shoes about a week ago. its the best feeling ever isnt it? I hope more good news come to those still waiting... hang in there!!

Those that were accepted off the waitlist, were any of you interviewed by sub-committee E (the disadvantaged applicants group)?

I was also just accepted on 5/30.

Interviewed 4/5, waitlisted 4/23.
 
I just got my acceptance letter too! Cant believe it, I'm so excited. Waitlisted 3/21 and letter sent 5/30. For those of you wondering, after I got waitlisted I sent in a letter of intent telling them they were my top choice.

Congrats to the others accepted and good luck to the rest of you!

did people accepted from the waitlist get the $5k scholarship?

I would pay an extra 5k to get in 😉
 
I'd pay an extra "however much extra this private school is going to cost me that I'm going to attend" to get into UCLA. 😉

why would they waste the time on that? Looks like Geffen's going to have an extremely finicky class.

trochomoniasis - finicky ppl is what you need in the medical field; you can't jump to conclusions right off the bat.

that happened for me too. At least it makes for something different to look at. But still no status change since the waitlist info...

that statement carries a lot of weight coming from someone who hasn't even started medical school.

you're wrong, by the way. If anything medical school will bitch slap the finicky straight outta you. congrats though. UCLA is a fine school.

it seems easy to say 'don't lose hope' now, but just judging from this thread, it feels like waitlist movement hasn't lost it's momentum yet.

I was wondering, do you get notified that a change in status has occurred or do you guys all check your statuses on their website everyday/week...
 
they don't notify you of the status change, but even if you miss it, a snail mail letter of acceptance will arrive within a few days.

for me personally, it was too frustrating to check a website that seemingly never changes. i just subscribed to this thread and checked my status whenever others shared their good news.

hahah yeah, textbook masochistic premeds.:laugh: this application process has been painful enough. no need to inflict any more pain by doing that.
 
At this point, how does everyone feel about continuing to wait? I get the feeling that there isn't going to be much movement at this time, and also, it's getting closer to the time when I have to commit to moving somewhere else. But I keep hanging on to some hope that UCLA will come through. I'm just worried I'll finally find a place to live near the other school, and then have to back out of a lease or I'll wait too long for UCLA and then end up with an impossible move to pull off and no place to live. Argh!!!
 
I called a couple days ago and was told they don't expect much movement for another 3 weeks - take that for what it's worth.
