I just accepted my OOS offer! (I was on the alternate list and received a phone call this past Thursday around 12:50 pm)

I would think that a follow up email will come at some point that will ask for all that information, but it never hurts to reach out to them if you want to be sure.

Hey! Waitlisted IS student. This is my first cycle and UF is my dream school. I was under the impression that I would hear a "yes" or "no" around this time in order to go forward with beefing up my resume prior to next cycle. This including re-taking some courses I did not do as well in/getting a new job because my current clinic is no longer a good learning environment. I recently heard waitlisted students can be pushed in as late as the Friday before classes begin. Scaring me a little because of course I would say yes but I also do not want to spend the money moving somewhere that isn't Gainesville first/community college courses/getting a new job and then leaving abruptly. Does anyone have any recommendations or been through this before?

Most waitlist movement will be around now and waitlist movement usually starts to dramatically slow down over the next couple weeks. But There’s always a chance someone could get pulled clear until school starts though, if someone who initially accepted a seat changes their mind and withdraws. But you can’t wait around forever. I’d say if you haven’t heard anything within a couple more weeks it’s time to start implementing plan b. I think trying to find housing that has favorable cancellation clauses would be smart, because you don’t want a lease and penalties to prevent you from being able to move quickly if you did get a call from UF. It would suck to start making plans for the year and get a sudden call and have to pivot, but either you adapt or turn them down. It would be silly to just sit around until August and not be bettering your app for a potential re-application.

Earlier I posted here that I got pulled off the UF waitlist, however... my IS dream school pulled me off their waitlist less than a week after UF's phone call!! Although I am extremely blessed to have TWO offers, I will be declining my seat with UF and accepting my seat at TAMU.
UF CVM will always have a special place in my heart since they were the first vet school to ever tell me "yes". Good luck to everyone still waiting, hopefully I opened up a spot for you! If it helps, both schools gave me until April 25th (yesterday) to accept or decline my seat. I'm thinking they may start pulling the next people off the waitlist this upcoming week, not sure though!

There’s a few bike racks in front of new auditorium in the veterinary academic building. A lot of people bike to school but there’s usually plenty of room.

My Son plans to primarily bike to UFCVM. We scoped it all out and the bike racks are in the back and there are cameras right above the bike racks. We have a place for him that is less than 15 minute bike ride away. Depending on time of day, bike riding appears to be faster than driving. Hope this helps.

Summer is your friend in that regard. Many of the experiences I got were over the summer, but with good time management I think it is possible to work/volunteer and attend school full time.

To chime in, I usually worked on the weekends and summers as a full time student. One semester I even stacked my classes to be Tu/Wed/Thurs so I had a 4 day weekend, meaning I could work more often! It's hard work but definitely possible.

I think it may also depend on when they received your acceptance form and matriculation acknowledgment form and when they processed it. Considering the school hasn’t contacted anyone yet I’m sure they’re still processing everything.
