UF VetMed Hopefuls C/O 2019

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Congrats to all!!
I was a student interviewer and all the applicants were amazing!
In the past they won't tell you the number you are on the waitlist. but for OOS in the past it takes 3 offers to fill each seat. So keep your head up!!

Do you know about IS waitlisted? I was waitlisted last year and now again. Anyone know about how many people are on the waiting list/how many they normally pull off the IS list. Last year I heard about ten but idk I obviously never heard anything.

IS is so different every year. My class there was none off the IS waitlist b/c all offers were accepted. other years Very different...
they won't tell you how many people are on the waitlist or your number... for IS or OOS... they didn't even tell us...

Yeah IS can really range - I know we had a few come off of the waitlist for 2018. The class statistics that are online for each year break down exactly how many offers were made/declined etc. for IS and OOS, so you can take a look at those to get some idea of how it's moved each year. OOS definitely always moves a lot, IS is significantly less, but don't give up hope if you were waitlisted! You never know what might happen.

Here's the link to the statistics: http://education.vetmed.ufl.edu/admissions/dvm-specifics/admission-statistics-by-class/

Thank you , but do you know if where it says for example x amount of seats were offered and x amount of seats were declined. Do you know if that means that like a surplus of seats were offered ex: 99 and then like 10 of those people declined . Or like 88 seats were offered and then ten of those 88 declined so they offered ten more...if that makes much sense?

They said that the AAVMC changed the rules for invitations this year so they only sent out offers for the number of seats available. I wonder if this is the case for all schools?

Definitely not the case for all schools. Illinois accepted double the number of OOS applicants for the number of seats in their class.

Yea I got that same feeling too! They said that the AAVMC changed the rules for invitations this year so they only sent out offers for the number of seats available. I wonder if this is the case for all schools? Anyways it's really nice of them to let us know that!
What was the wording that suggested that? They actually said only the 24 could be sent out?

I am mailing my acceptance letter tomorrow!!! So excited 🙂 OOS btw!

Any other wait listers get the animal science course info email?

For anyone else out there interested in wildlife/zoo/exotics what are your opinions on UF vs. CSU's programs?

Yayyy! Both my sister and I were accepted! Congrats to everyone else who got in. I cant wait to meet you all!

I have the link to the Facebook group, so if any of you are wanting to join just shoot me a message and I will send it to you! 🙂
Congratulations! Both my twin sister and I will be your new class mates. I tried looking up the group on FB, but was unsuccessful so a link would be extremely helpful lol. Thank you, and I can't wait to meet you all🙂

No 🙁 I don't think anyone has declined a spot yet. Probably won't hear anything until after April 15th 🙁
